HOW TO SELECT THE CORRECT SADDLE CLOTH
Size - Measurements are made along the fold.
When measuring its recommended that
MEASURE
the saddle cloth extends each side of
the saddle by at least 3 inches.
The Society offers 4 sizes:
• 23” (~58 cm)
• 24” (~61 cm)
• 27” (~68.5 cm)
• 30” (~76 cm)
HERE
Colour - The Society’s traditional option is green and gold. If competing in
ASHLA events, this option is standard attire. Tartan has proved popular in
the showring, campdrafting, youth events, etc.
Material - Woollen saddle clothes are the most popular although some
Members prefer the cotton in hot/humid locations. Cotton saddle clothes
are available by special order.
Cleaning - Hand wash in cold water. Use woolmix or delicate fabric wash.
Gently squeeze out excess water or roll in towels. Dry flat in shade.
DO NOT DRY CLEAN or WASH IN HOT/WARM WATER.
