School Categorisation
Estyn Inspection January 2017
All school across Wales are regularly scrutinised
through a variety of methods including self
evaluation and visits from Local Education Authority
advisors. We are currently categorised as a yellow
school. This means we are an effective school who
know and understand most of our areas in need of
improvement. We have many aspects of our school
performance which are self-improving. We receive
bespoke challenge and support deployed according
to our needs. We have our School Improvement Plan
priorities which we work hard to improve upon and
we share these with you in our newsletters. Thank
you for being part of our educational journey. We
are awaiting the results of the recent annual
categorisation scrutiny and will share the outcome
with you next term.
On behalf of the Governing Body, I wish to inform all
parents and carers that Estyn will visit our school
between 23rd-26th January 2017. Estyn is Her
Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education and Training in
Wales. A Reporting Inspector will lead the inspection
team in relation to section 28 of the Education Act
2005. As part of the inspection process,
parental/carer
questionnaires
are
available
electronically and can be accessed in two ways; a
direct hyperlink, which can be used for digital
communication.https://vir.estyn.gov.uk/questionnair
es/pages/ParentLogin.aspx?lang=en-GB&id=08226 or,
by going to http://vir.estyn.gov.uk, clicking on
‘Complete a parent questionnaire’ then inputting the
5 digit code we have sent separately. Please complete
them by 6th January. If any parent wishes to use a
school computer, please pop in and see us. Thank you
for your support in completing the questionnaires. 
Promoting Welsh Every Day
As part of our ‘Siartr Iaith’, we are encouraging our
children to practise speaking Welsh with their
families. The sentence pattern this week is, ‘Sut wyt
ti?’ which translates as, ‘How are you?’. See what
responses the children give you!
Da iawn, diolch:
