NEW SHARON CITY COUNCIL

Lamberson, Wes White and Terry Hudson were

Motion was made by Applegate and seconded by Ward to approve the following consent
agenda items:
8/03/16 minutes
8/20/16 agenda amended to remove Tammy
Rivera permit, discussion about fixing north
park and Sharon Dawley to discuss scooters
are they are not present
8/20/16 distributions pending
AYES: Ward, Applegate, Lamberson, White,
Hudson; NAYS: None; ABSTENTIONS: None.
Public Comments:
A. Colleen Bartlett- would like to know if
she can build her new house on an angle. As
long as she meets requirements there is no ordinance saying you can’t build on an angle.
B. Steve Davis- asked if there is any intention of reopening the yard waste. Mayor Hite
stated not at this time however, we might look
into this in the fall during leaf season having it
open for a small amount of time. It was stated if
someone has an idea of a site to ask the DNR if
this would be permitted. At this time we are still
looking for a location that will be approved.
Steve also inquired about the status of the
Presbyterian church. Lisa received an email
stating the committee was giving people until
November to remove any items they would like.
C. Eric Gragg- asked the council if they
would consider selling the property east of the
Quonset. We do not want to sell that property
at this time
D. Lindsey Phillips and Dave Shanahan- Discussion on the condition of North Park
St where the pavement and gravel comes together. Dave stated there is always a street
problem when you have pavement and gravel
coming together. One option would be to look
into putting a coating on the street, another option would be to put in a drain. These are costly
solutions.

Resolutions and motions:
A. Motion was made by Lamberson and

agreement for maintenance and repair of primary roads.
AYES: Lamberson, Hudson, Applegate,
White, Ward; NAYES: None; ABSTENTIONS:

C. Discussion was held by Tom German in
regards to the semi parking lot. Tom would like
to have two more parking spaces in the lot. He
asked should trailers be licensed? Should this
be for residents only? Do we need to add more
spots? Council doesn’t want to make it for residents only since some of the drivers do not live
in the city limits and this is harder for Lisa to
keep track of. Tom will get us a price on some
material for the extra sites.
D. Jim Reed inquired about the old school
square lot that the city has left. He is interested
in purchasing this to build a house on. This requires a resolution setting a public hearing so
that will be on the agenda for the September
21st meeting.
