Trudy Darnell, Executive Director Regency Retirement Village of Morristown Recent Events FUNtastic Friday—Pirate Day: Friday, September 2 Picnic at Douglas Dam: Wednesday, September 14 ARGH, me maties! The pirate talk was flowing for September’s FUNtastic Friday. The Parlor was full of resi- What a beautiful day for a picnic! The weather was almost perfect for our Picnic at Douglas Dam. The dents who looked, talked and acted like pirates. Mr. Gene won the prize for “best pirate costume”—he grew his scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We feasted on KFC chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, beard for 3 weeks to pull off the look! Men’s Fishing Trip: Wednesday, September 7 Bluegrass & BBQ Festival: Thursday, September 15 The men had a wonderful day fishing on Douglas Lake. The weather was great, the water was calm & the Pickin’ & Grinnin’—those are two words we would certainly use for the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival we had fish were biting! We ended up catching a total of 9 fish. Whether any fish were caught or not, we still would during National Assisted Living Week. We had some great pickin’ from The Smokey Mountain Express have had a great time. It was very relaxing sitting in the boat out on the beautiful lake. We had a picnic Band (based in Johnson City, TN) and local favorite, The Lost Creek Band. Also on hand was The Gigglin’ lunch of sandwiches, chips, cookies, and drinks. They had 2 children, Sharon & Tyna Lucille N K L O D R N J C H H A U N T E D H O U S E K L X (who passed away when she was 10). During his Army career, he O I N K I Y K K G F N N R E T N A L O K C A J O Y was sent overseas & was part of the Battle of the Bulge. He spent H A G T R I C K O R T R E A T B I Y D D Y W X W K 10 years in the Army, becoming a First Sergeant before leaving.
