NorthStar Children’s Initiative‐ Reidsville Pilot Temporary Site Coordinator Position The Reidsville Area Foundation (RAF) is working with The New Reidsville Housing Authority (NRHA) to create and piece together a pipeline of services for children in NRHA from birth through high school. The goal of the NorthStar Children’s Initiative [NSCI] is that every child in the geographically‐focused area completes high school ready for college or career. NHRA is currently seeking to fill the position of Temporary Site Coordinator‐Reidsville Pilot, a position integral to connecting families and youth at The New Reidsville Housing Authority campus on Third Avenue to existing services, as well as newly created services. This temporary part‐time contract position will report to The New Reidsville Housing Authority executive director. Candidates must exhibit ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, with an average of 20 hours/week. Base schedule M‐Th 10‐3. Pay rate is $12/hr. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: Prior experience in working with family and youth population and working in an advocate role. Candidates should be resourceful and knowledgeable of community resources and services with emphasis on families and youth. Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of low‐income housing residents and experience in community‐organizing and community‐ building also preferred. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be committed to the mission of NSCI. Other Requirements: 1) Active NC driver’s license 2) background criminal check 3) adhere to drug screening 4) basic computer skills Primary Scope of Work: The Site Coordinator will carry out NSCI goals and objectives, policies, procedures, and additional duties as defined by NSCI and the The New Reidsville Housing Authority executive director. The site coordinator is responsible for developing and fostering communication and engagement between parents, caregivers, and services provided through the NSCI. Specific Activities: Specific tasks of the Site Coordinator will include, but not be limited to the following: 1) Develop and conduct recreational and other activities for youth and assist in recruiting volunteers 2) Contact and connect residents to community services, focusing on services for families and youth 3) Recruit families into NSCI and partner programs 4) Actively seek grant opportunities and share them with The New Reidsville Housing Authority executive director 5) Assist with and/or arrange supervision for children during after‐school tutoring sessions 6) Organize field trips for youth residents and chaperones and transport participants as directed 7) Maintain communication with RAF staff and the executive director of the housing authority The New Reidsville Housing Authority (NRHA) provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
