SixOMC 9.4: What's new!
"The objective in the development of SixOMC 9.4
was to increase productivity during the production
of advertising materials by means of new tools and
a continuous workflow management."
Silvia Cunningham, Product Manager SixOMC
A once-in-a-century event, each and every time:
the new SixOMC
Stress right up to the end? That does not have to be the case: With SixOMC 9.4,
you can save money, time and your nerves by means of the completely revised proofreading management tool. SixOMC supports adding comments, concentrated revision and
corrections, which are then displayed on the screen without any media discontinuity. No matter whether in the
browser, Adobe InDesign or the Hopper, each party sees the current correction status in their client application.
At the proper time, automatic messages incorporate all corrections into the process and ensure a flowing process.
This does not only add up to effectively monitoring the status and progress of your corrections. The seamless
documentation of all input results in increased quality and enhanced customer loyalty due to revision security
.
SixOMC 9.4 now even better supports all other steps in the production process. Starting with the revised job type
management tool, on to creating jobs in all clients, the automated keyword indexing when importing assets, on up
to the completely revised output of high-resolution videos and true integration into the Microsoft Office world, the
new version provides a solid base for more success and fun during production.
Integration into existing IT environments is greatly facilitated via the expanded WSDL interface: New function and
the integrated job management tool
now provide for a rapid, synchronous
connection of third-party systems.
New Proofreading Management
Off we go: The proofreading process
is triggered with just a few clicks.
No matter whether in Hopper,
WebCenter or Adobe InDesign,
the process can be launched from
any client. The clearly arranged
display of corrections and the
intuitive user interface concept
enables immediate participation of
all parties without any training.
SixOMC 9.4: Proofreading Management
For proofreaders, a stepless zoom has been provided, the outstanding image quality and the cumulative page and
individual user views enable quick assessment and processing of incoming jobs.
SixOMC_WebCenter
The WebCenter continues to replace fat clients. Job creation has been integrated into the WebCenter: easy, quick
and tailored to WebCenter users. Keyword indexing of media assets can be automatically directed and simplified
via automatic presettings – for importing objects, metadata can be preset, which are automatically allocated during
import. By means of the new field type "Multiselect," library-specific and multilingual selection lists with several
entries can be displayed.
Categories and job groups can likewise be managed in the WebCenter, so that even more jobs in the production
process can be quickly and cost-effectively processed via the browser.
SixOMC_Hopper
The job type concept was further developed and
expanded by hierarchical groups. They are automatically made available when new jobs are
created. Moreover, in the new job types, all job
data fields can be preallocated and reference
objects stored as templates. Additional search
possibilities round off the new capabilities of
the client.

SixOMC_InDesign-Plugin
The new, comprehensive proofreading processes are transparently
integrated in the SixOMC_InDesignPlugin. Graphic designers can launch
the proofreading process or perform
corrections without having to exit
InDesign. Images that are linked in
an InDesign document are taken over
into SixOMC via automatic check-in.
Not withstanding the comprehensive
enhancements, user friendliness
was improved and working with the
plug-in made more convenient.
SixOMC_Office-Plugin
SixOMC_InDesign-Plugin
With its enhanced search function and comprehensive possibility of uploading and downloading individual assets up
to entire documents, the SixOMC_Office-Plugin taps new user groups for SixOMC in the press and company communications sectors.
The automatic creation of several jobs from one input file, creating jobs from JDF files and the automatic import of
files in predefined job groups further simplifies the automatic take over of jobs and customer data from other EDP
systems.
WoodWing-Plugin
The new configuration possibilities, the access to date fields for searching and the integrated faceted
search better support the integration into WoodWing.
Data Synchronization in the SyncServer
The SyncServer - the SixOMC module for synchronizing files between headquarters and
remote sites – is considerably accelerated via multicore support, and monitoring the
synchronization process is facilitated via the user interface.
HotFolder
Automatic object import via an XML control file has been enhanced. New data fields such as
color coding, object status, evaluation, period of use or the ObjectsPlus field type, multiselect
list, are supported.
Video Preview
The module for calculating and visualizing videos in the WebCenter was completely revised so that
the quality of, for example, HD videos is greatly increased.
Enhancements in rights management, additional search possibilities in Hopper, as well as in WebCenter and
various WSDL enhancements round off the release.
