New and Updated Lodging Choices:
This is a prime holiday weekend and hotels are very busy. The Biltmore has no availability, and
the Grand Bohemian has availability but at a premium. (see below) We added a new hotel for
another choice and a new rental home option if your group stays at 8 people.
Rustic Mountain Retreat:
8 Bedrooms with private baths
Beautiful log Bed and Breakfast style home nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Breakfast would be prepared and served each morning, with on the road lunches (similar to PA camp)
Thursday Dinner would be a casual Barbeque at the house and included in the cost.
This is a one of a kind property in the Asheville area that is perfect for your family reunion, wedding
party or corporate retreat. This property is a recently built log home with guest house perched on the
side of a mountain adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway. All together there are 8 bedrooms, each with
their own private bath. The views are magnificeint, and can be enjoyed from one of our extensive
porches or from most of our bedrooms. It has the feel of a lodge in a secluded setting but is convenient
to downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate and all that Western North Carolina has to offer.

Grand Bohemian
This is a spectacular well-appointed hotel with superb customer service and accomodations
But this is a prime holiday weekend so prices were higher than expected and we were not able to get
special prices for the group that we were hoping for. If we choose this option we need to move quickly
to reserve, because they are very busy this weekend and they might not have availability. Unfortunely
we have to increase our estimate for the Grand Bohemian because of these unexpected costs.

Renaissance Marriot
While not the Grand…the Renaissance Marriot is an upscale facility that would give our group convience
to Asheville restaurants and tourism with a more reasonable cost.
Dining
There are lots of exciting restaurants in Asheville and we will continue to seek out the finest and most
interesting ones. Biltmore Estates and Grand Bohemian both house some of the finest dining in the
area.
Rides
Asheville, NC is one of the “Centers” of cycling in the east. Majestic mountains, low traffic roads and
amazing views make the miles enjoyable. Our rides will utilize the easy access to the Blue Ridge
Parkway on two of the three riding days allowing for numerous miles on the low traffic parkway roads.
The parkway is ideal for riding as it was designed to be a “slow drive” scenic byway. The parkway is
purpose engineered and has a maximum grade of 4% on all climbs / descents. Don’t let the subltle
grade fool you, there are plenty of longer climbs to get the legs moving! There are numerous scenic
overviews and picnic areas to act as rest stops.
