Discover one of four unique and exciting
cultures while attending school in Mexico,
Argentina, Brazil or Chile. These countries
offer a diversity of geography, languages,
cuisines, festivals and cultural traditions.
MEXICO Once home to ancient civilisations like
the Maya and the Aztec. Mexicans are known for their
kindness, hospitality, artistic skills, festive spirit and
great food.
ARGENTINA In Argentina, WEP includes 25 hours of
Spanish language lessons, day-long orientation session
and five excursions as well as optional trips to Iguazu falls
and Ushuaia, the most southern point before Antarctica.
Home to tango, ‘los gauchos’, soccer and the ‘asado’,
Argentina is famous for its beef and delectable foods,
such as ‘alfajores’ and ‘empanadas’.
BRAZIL The largest and most populous country in
South America is the land of Carnaval, futebol (soccer),
samba, bossa nova, Jiu Jitsu and the Amazon. Brazilians
are open, talkative, friendly and easy-going people who
love to play soccer and dance. Brazilians also work hard,
are very creative and face life with joy and intensity.
The official language is Portuguese.
CHILE The most southern country in the world is famous
for Patagonia, Torres del Paine, Easter Island, alpacas,
Ilamas, poet Pablo Neruda (winner of Nobel Peace
Prize for Literature) and outdoor festivals. Chileans are
friendly, hospitable, proud people and family life is highly
valued and celebrated often. Semester and year Chilean
programs include 20–40 hours Spanish language tuition.
ECUADOR This Spanish speaking country on the west
coast of South America consists of four geographic
regions: the Galápagos Islands, the Coast, the Orient
and the Sierra. Students can choose between living in
the Sierra region (commencing in September) or the
Coast (commencing in May).
