Pre-Class: Graph y = -2x + 3 7.5 Graphing Square Root and Cube Root Functions y = √x and y = ∛x are called radical functions (1, 1) (0, 0) (0, 0) (-1, -1) (1, 1) January 15, 2013 Graphs of radical functions: To graph y = a√x - h + k or y = a∛x - h + k, follow these steps: 1) Sketch the graph of y = a√x or y = a∛x and notice that y = a√x passes through (1, a) and y = a∛x passes through (-1, -a) and (1, a). 2) Shift the graph h units horizontally 3) Shift the graph k units vertically.
