TENSION
13 sts and 19 rows to 10 cm measured over st st using
61/2mm (US 101/2) needles and yarn A.
FINISHED SIZE
Completed bed runner is 46 cm (18 in) wide and approx
224 cm (88 in) long.
BED RUNNER
Using 61/2mm (US 101/2) needles and yarn A, cast on 60
sts.
Beg with a K row, work 20 rows in st st, ending with RS
facing for next row.
Joining in and breaking off yarns as required, cont as
folls:
Row 21 (RS): Using yarn B, K to end, winding yarn
multiple times around needle for sts as folls: *wind twice,
wind 4 times, wind 9 times, wind twice, wind 7 times,
wind 6 times, wind 5 times, wind twice, wind 4 times,
then 8 times, rep from * to end.
Row 22: Using yarn B, P to end, dropping extra loops
from previous row and winding yarn multiple times
around needle for sts as folls: * wind twice, wind 6 times,
wind 8 times, wind 5 times, wind 4 times, wind 3 times,
wind 8 times, wind once, wind 6 times, then wind 8
times, rep from * to end.
Using yarn A, beg with a K row and dropping extra
loops from previous row on first row, work 15 rows in st
st, ending with WS facing for next row.
Row 38 (WS): Using yarn B, knit.
Using yarn A, beg with a K row, work 15 rows in st st,
ending with WS facing for next row.
Row 54 (WS): Using yarn B, P to end, winding yarn
multiple times around needle for sts as folls: *twice, 4
times, 9 times, twice, 7 times, 6 times, 5 times, twice, 4
times, then 8 times, rep from * to end.
Row 55: Using yarn B, K to end, dropping extra loops
from previous row and winding yarn multiple times
around needle for sts as folls: *twice, 6 times, 8 times,
5 times, 4 times, 3 times, 8 times, once, 6 times, then 8
times, rep from * to end.
Using yarn A, beg with a P row and dropping extra
loops from previous row on first row, work 15 rows in st
st, ending with RS facing for next row.
Row 71 (RS): Using yarn B, purl.
Using yarn A, beg with a P row, work 15 rows in st st,
ending with RS facing for next row.
Rows 87 to 137: As rows 21 to 71.
Using yarn A, beg with a P row, work 30 rows in st st,
ending with WS facing for next row.
Row 168 (WS): As row 38.
Using yarn A, beg with a K row, work 30 rows in st st, MAKING UP
