shall be deemed forfeited by the exhibitor and the
RA&HS shall no longer be liable to pay or provide

PRIZE MONEY AND GST
Prize money as stated in the Prize Schedule does not
include GST.
The prize money which we pay to successful
exhibitors depends on information provided to us. If
you confirm that you are GST registered and provide
your Australian Business Number (ABN), we will pay
the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. We will
provide you with a Recipient Created Tax Invoice
which you will need to submit to the Australian
Taxation Office.
If you confirm you are registered for GST, in entering
the competition, you acknowledge your agreement
to the following:
You will not issue a tax invoice to the RA&HS in
respect to prize money received;
You will notify the RA&HS if you cease to be
registered for GST.
If you provide your Australian Business Number
but are not registered for GST, we will pay the prize
money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without
reference to the GST.
If you confirm you are entering as part of a private
recreational pursuit or hobby, we will pay the prize
money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without
reference to GST.
IMPORTANT
It is important that you either:
• Confirm you are entering as part of a
private recreational pursuit or hobby, or
• Confirm you are entering as a GST
registered business and supply your ABN
Failure to do either of the above will cause
the RA&HS to withhold 48.5% of your prize
money in accordance with Australian tax
legislation.
3
The RA&HS is not a tax consultant and therefore
assumes no liability for actions taken as a result of
these guidelines. In any instances where an entrant
or sponsor is uncertain of the tax implications of
their involvement, they should consult their own
accountant or tax advisor.
The Society makes every endeavour to ensure all prizes
listed are accurate at the time of printing. Should a prize
(cash, voucher, product, trophy) be withdrawn by a
sponsor subsequent to printing, the Society will pay prize
money as stated above. It is the responsibility of the prize
winner to follow-up with the Society any sponsored
prize (cash, voucher, product, trophy) they believe they
are entitled to prior to 15 December in the year of the
prize being awarded. The Society will not follow-up
prize sponsors after this date or review any prizes that
may have been incorrectly awarded.
SICK OR DISEASED ANIMALS
If in the opinion of a qualified veterinary surgeon
appointed by the Society, a animal on the Showground
is so injured or affected by sickness, disease or other
ailment as to warrant its destruction or removal from
the Showground, the Society shall be entitled to have
the animal destroyed and/or require it to be removed
immediately from the Showground. If the exhibitor fails
to respond to a request to remove an animal, the Society
may do so and any costs of removal will be borne by the
Exhibitor.
PENALTY FOR NON-EXHIBITION OF ANIMAL
In order to prevent the non-exhibition of animals
which have been entered for the Show, thus causing
unnecessary preparation, expense and disarrangement
of the Show area, any persons making an entry shall
be liable to a fine of $15 in respect of each animal not
exhibited, unless a certificate under the hand of the
exhibitor or his authorised agent be lodged with the
secretary of the Society before the day of exhibition to
the effect that such non-exhibition is caused either by
1. the death of the animal or animals; or
2. contagious or infectious disease (confirmed by the
explanatory certificate of a veterinary surgeon); or
3. becoming ineligible for the class in which it has been
entered, or other reasonable cause. The non-payment
of such will debar all persons owing from exhibiting at
future exhibitions of the Society.
UNAUTHORISED REMOVAL
Exhibitors shall not remove their animals from the
Showground before the time set down for their removal
unless they produce a certificate signed by the Society’s
Veterinary Surgeon or the Supervisor of the section,
signifying that the animal shall be removed for reasons of
health or condition.

pedigree or registration is required to compete in
this section; however all remaining general show
rules will apply. All animals must be handled
with care and kindness. No rabbit is to be lifted
by its ears or the scruff of the neck.
Rabbit Ages:
Ages will be calculated as at 6 September 2017.
The minimum age of a rabbit entered will be ten
(10) weeks.
RABBITS
PROHIBITION FROM EXHIBITING EXHIBITS NOT
ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE
Any exhibitor, in whose rabbitry a case of
Myxomatosis is confirmed, may not exhibit at the
show unless the elapse of 28 days has occurred
from the last death.
Any exhibitor, in whose rabbitry a case of Calici
Virus is confirmed, may not exhibit at the Show
unless the elapse of 90 days has occurred from
the last death.
An exhibitor must not compete if they have had
unexplained deaths in their rabbitry within the
14 day period before the Royal Adelaide Show.
Calici Virus should be expected in any sudden
death especially if more than one rabbit in the
household has died. Individual rabbits will also
become ineligible to compete if previously
entered in a display or show in the 14 days prior
to this event.
CAGES
Exhibitors must supply their own show cages.
Cages must have a solid leak proof tray/base,
which cannot exceed half the total height of the
cage. Shavings or litter must be contained in the
base, under the wire floor. Wood construction
of any type is not allowed. Cages should be
designed and maintained in a condition as to not
cause injury to stewards or the rabbits. All cages
must be top opening and should be fitted with a
30 mm curtain ring on the front face of the cage
to facilitate pen tag attachment. At the exhibitor’s
discretion, cage curtains made of white cotton
may be attached covering three sides only
leaving the cage front and top clear.
A cage curtain must not impede the stewards’
access. Cages are not to be marked with
exhibitor name or stud prefix.
Cages can be divided if the rabbits being
exhibited are of the same breed and the size
requirement is not compromised. The height
of the cage should have sufficient clearance
so that the rabbit’s ears do not contact the lid.
19
A maximum height of 45 cm applies to all
show cages. The size requirements below are a
recommendation for the wellbeing of your rabbit.
Dwarf & Miniature breeds up to 2.25 kg
(5 lbs) – 30 x 40 cm
Medium sized breeds up to 3.65 kg (8 lbs) – 35
x 50 cm
Large and Giant breeds – 40 x 60 cm
The Show Committee can refuse cages of poor
design and has the final say regarding the
suitability of all show cages and curtains.
EXHIBIT PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY A JUDGE
No rabbit previously owned by a judge shall be
eligible for exhibition under that judge until a
period of three months has elapsed from the date
of registration or transfer being recorded.
LIABILITY
All rabbits are entered at the risk of the owner.
The RA&HS and the SARA Inc. will take all due
care but accept no responsibility for the health
and wellbeing of rabbits attending the Show.
FEED AND WATER
All exhibits must have water bottles fitted to
their cages at all times. Owners are permitted
to supply foodstuffs as they see fit. Loose hay
must be contained in a hay cage or enclosure
suitable for this purpose (e.g. cardboard toilet
roll). The Vetting Officer, Show Convenor or other
committee member may supply water to any
animal if they feel it is necessary to do so.
Water bottles should be attached in a manner
that does not impede the steward’s ability to open
the cage and remove the rabbit easily.

Important Conditions
(continued)
The Insured Party must made themselves aware of and comply with the following
Notices:Duty of Disclosure Before you enter into a contract of General insurance with an
insurer, you have a duty, under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 as amended, to
disclose to the insurer every matter that you know, or could reasonably be expected
to know, is relevant to the insurer’s decision whether to accept the risk of the
insurance and, if so, on what terms.
You have the same duty to disclose these matters to the insurer before you renew,
extend, vary or reinstate a contract of General insurance.
Your duty however, does not require disclosure of matter:that diminishes the risk to be undertaken by the insurer
that is of common knowledge
that your insurer knows or, in the ordinary course of his business, ought to
know.
Non-Disclosure If you fail to comply with your duty of disclosure, the insurer may
be entitled to reduce his liability under the contract in respect of a claim or may
cancel the contract.
If your non-disclosure is fraudulent, the insurer may also have the option of
avoiding the contract from its beginning.
Average Provision The insurer will pay legal expenses in addition to the sum
insured, if however, the total amount of the loss (less legal expenses) ultimately
paid to the claimant(s) exceeds the sum insured then insurers will only pay (in
addition to the sum insured) that proportion of the legal expenses as the sum
insured bears to the loss.
Third Party Interests This policy will only provide cover for your interest and does
not cover the interests of any third party (e.g. financiers, lessors, etc) unless the
interests of the third party are noted in the policy.
Waiver of Insurer’s Rights You must not enter into any agreement without the
written authority of the insurer whereby any of their rights to which they become
entitled as your insurer after settling or agreeing to settle a claim are prejudiced
or limited in any way otherwise all benefit under the policy will be forfeited.
NOTE
1. All enquiries to be referred to Arthur J Gallagher Insurance Brokers
Tel. no. (02) 9424 1888
2.
CLAIMS
(a)
No admission of liability or fault may be made in any form to a
claimant. To do so may breach the policy conditions and enable
insurers to avoid settlement.
(b) Any notice of a potential or actual claim must be referred
immediately to Arthur J Gallagher Insurance Brokers
3. Nothing herein shall be construed to alter in any way the scope of
insurance policy, its terms, conditions or exclusions, issued by insurers.
4. RAHSSA is not liable to the Insured Party in the event a claim is not paid or
payable by Insurers unless RAHSSA fails to take reasonable steps to advise
that the cover is or is likely to be cancelled or not renewed.
5. RAHSSA is not an Australian Financial Services (AFS) Licence holder.
RAHSSA is not providing financial product advice, has not considered
the particular needs of the Insured party and no statement is intended
to influence a person or persons making a decision in relation to any insurance cover. You should consider obtaining your own financial product
advice from person holding an AFS Licence.
6. This insurance only applies to insured parties entering competition in
accordance with the general regulations.
The details listed above are not comprehensive and are provided as an outline of the
