A Tragic Death
On the 19th of April last year, 18 year-old Josh Park-Fing
tragically died at his Government-approved Work for the
Dole site in Toowoomba.

Dole site in Toowoomba.
Distraught family members and shocked members of the
public demanded answers. Minister of Employment
Michaelia Cash promised to conduct an investigation,
and to publish a report within a month. A year has
passed, and the Park-Fing family, Josh's friends, and the
general public are still waiting.

A Dangerous and Ineffective Program
A Dangerous and Ineffective Program
Work for the Dole is dangerous - in 2016, the number of
injuries sustained at Work for the Dole sites was 5 times
higher than in the previous year. According to a recent
government commissioned report by Ernst and Young,
36% of Work For The Dole activities do not meet
basic safety standards. Work for the Dole is also
senseless - a government report found that the program
increased chances of employment by only 2%!
