The programs are rooted in a philosophy of social responsibility and respect for human rights. They prepare students for ethical social work practice and leadership with diverse populations. Classes are available in day, evening and weekend formats. Credit Transfer Details St. Kate’s is committed to providing options as you consider completing your bachelors degree. We hope to maximize your educational experience, advise you in the financial aid process and assist in mapping out an optimal timeline. Please consider working with us as early as possible to optimize your educational opportunities. This guide provides information about transfer of credit for general education and social work supporting coursework. There are three options for meeting these requirements. Students who have completed the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTc) or an Associate of Arts degree with a 2.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) will satisfy a majority of St. Catherine University Liberal Arts Core/General Education requirements. Students who have not completed the MnTC or AA will have credits evaluated on a course‐by‐course basis (see TES/Transferology). Please note that transferring after completion of the 40 credit MnTC gives you additional time at St. Kate’s to pursue study abroad (day students only), an internship, research with a professor, a minor, or begin major coursework earlier. Approved Courses for Social Work at St. Catherine University Social work students must also complete supporting coursework for the major. The courses listed below have been approved by the social work program as meeting the supporting course work requirements in addition to meeting general education requirements at St. Kate’s. Students must achieve a C‐ or above for these courses. Students complete 12 courses (44 credits) to meet the social work major requirements. All of these courses must be taken within the joint program at St. Catherine University and the University of St. Thomas.
