Community Education Offerings
BOYS BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Grades 3 - 6
Like last year, we ask that you
evaluate your son based on
experience and skill. This
will help us determine
teams and keep them as
balanced as possible. We
will have three leagues, 1) 3rd grade/
beginners, 2) 4th grade/experienced and
3) 5th & 6th grade will be combined.
We will have experienced referees for all
games.
Your son will practice one night a week
and play two games on Saturdays.
Practices will begin the week of January 9
and your son will be contacted by his
coach no later than January 8 to inform
you of time and location of practice. We
are sorry, but we are unable to honor
special requests for practice night/times
due to the large number of kids in this
program.

You will be notified on location and time
no later than January 8.
Games:
Jan. 14 - Feb. 11, 2017
Games will be played between 8:00 a.m. &
1:30 p.m. You will receive a schedule at
your first practice.

Cost: $90, includes jersey

Parents - WE NEED COACHES.
It’s a great way to connect with your child
and his friends. Coaches will be notified
regarding a date and time of the coaches
meeting. You will be able to choose your
practice night and receive team
information at this meeting.
JR. EAGLES BASKETBALL
WRESTLING CLUB
Grades K - 2
Grades K - 8th
These four (4) week jr. basketball camps will
provide a fun atmosphere where kids will
start to learn the fundamentals of basketball.
The baskets at Georgetown Elementary can
be lowered to provide our little ones a better
chance to score and have fun. These sessions
will fill very quickly - register early to secure a
spot.

Session 1: This class is designed for all
beginning basketball players to focus on the
fundamentals of the game. The rims will be
lowered to 6 - 7 feet, so kids can work on
perfecting form. Ball handling, passing, defense,
etc., will also be introduced.
Session 2: This class is designed for kids who
are not ready for team concepts but have
advanced past some of the real basic
concepts covered in last years camp. Most
1st graders will fall into this category, but
some inexperienced 2nd graders and
advanced kindergartners could also benefit
from this session. Fundamentals is at the core
of this session, but kids will be shooting on 9
foot hoops.
Session 3: (2nd grade boys that meet the
following criteria): All players that register for
this session need to be in 2nd grade and
must be able to dribble with one hand, catch
a pass, and shoot at a 10 foot hoop. This
session is designed to get kids ready for 5 on
5 basketball.
Learn basic foundational
wrestling for beginners with
2 years or less experience
and advanced training for
serious wrestlers with 3+
years of experience.
The HWC offers more time on the mat to
learn through practices and more
opportunities to wrestle competitively
through the MYWA (Michigan Youth
Wrestling Assoc.) program.
Who: Kids in grades K - 8th
*Wrestlers are paired by weight and age.
Wrestlers in 7th & 8th grade who wrestle on the
middle school team will have fee waived.
When: First Practice: Tuesday, November
22, 6:15 p.m. ~ mandatory parent meeting at
6:30 p.m.
Where: Wrestling Room, Early Childhood
Center, 5535 School Ave.
Park in lot off of School St. and enter building
through double glass doors.
Practices: Fee covers both sessions, however,
session 2 will be advanced level practices.
Wrestlers are welcome to attend some or all
of the practices.

wrestle in 1-2 local beginner duals or
tournaments as they are offered (non-MYWA
sanctioned). *HWC affiliation results in an
$18 savings when you purchase an annual
MYWA member card. ($35 for members not
affiliated with a club ~ $17 if you’re in a club)

TAE KWON DO
HEAT/SWIM/FITNESS INFO
Hudsonville Community Education and Good
Institute of Tae Park Tae Kwon Do are offering a
traditional Chung Do Kwan style martial arts
class.
Classes are held at the instructional pool,
patrons should park in the visitors section and
check in at the main office to get into the high
school. Please pay at the pool office.
This 12 week session will help improve your
concentration, confidence, power, balance, and
flexibility. You will also learn respect, integrity,
courage, self-defense, and perseverance.

After School Engineering Classes using
LEGO® bricks, Battery Packs, Motors &
Remote Controls
In our classes, students use custom model
plans to learn about and build educational
models including motorized machines, using
LEGO® bricks. Our classes are designed to
be fun, incorporate learning across the
spectrum of S.T.E.M subjects, and inspire
creativity, problem solving, and teamwork
while using LEGO® bricks,
motors and battery packs for
hands on learning.
Animal Kingdom Time
It’s a zoo in here! This LEGO Engineering unit
is sure to delight kids who love creatures.
We’ll be building models of spiders, birds, and
more. Each week we’ll discuss fascinating facts
about the animals we build, including the
chameleon that changes colors. Kids will love
these moving models that celebrate the
wonders of the animal kingdom, built from
LEGO bricks, motors and battery packs.

MINECRAFT 'MODIFICATION' BOOTCAMP
This one-day boot camp by Protégé Game Studios will teach students
to modify the popular Minecraft game with programming and various
build tools. Participants will work hands-on within a team-social
environment to create customized Minecraft worlds on their very own
development server. All course files and documentation will be
available online for students to access at home after the boot camp.
LEGO® ENGINEERING
Grades 1 - 5
VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT BOOTCAMP
Do you have an idea for a video game? Or wondered what it would
be like to work and create video games in a video game development
studio? Now you can!
This course requires a Minecraft account. If your student does not have a
Minecraft account, you can purchase one online at minecraft.net or
purchase a Minecraft gift card at stores like Meijer, Target and GameStop
for $26.95
This one-day bootcamp by Protégé Game Studios will teach
participants video game development across multiple disciplines of
game design, programming, graphics-animation, and sound development.
Participants will use a unique learning platform called "Adventureman"
developed by Protégé to create a video game that can be played on
web and mobile platforms. All course files and documentation will be
available online for students to access at home after the boot camp.
You are not required to bring a computer to participate in this event,
computers will be provided. If your kid would like to bring his laptop we
can accommodate but are not responsible for the loss or damage to
their computer.
This bootcamp is part of our group of Start! courses which is an entry
point to our SiGHT membership program which takes students further
into developing their technology skills across disciplines of programming,
graphics / animation, sound, project management and much more.
