XA-8082 Rev. A Turnpike Host Release Notes 2 Overview Enhancements to the TurnpikeDirect service (web application) are scheduled to be released on October 28, 2012. This release includes enhancements to two Turnpike functions: • • The DVIR process now features new fields to accommodate vehicle information as well as modified inspection descriptions for drivers in Canada. Turnpike has been updated to properly gather and differentiate carrier and fleet information. This release also includes software corrections to address existing issues and improve overall product performance and stability. An outage window will be required to update the Turnpike production system. Refer to the TurnpikeDirect Announcement page for more information on the outage window. Enhancements Canadian DVIR Enhancements Turnpike DVIR functions have been updated, and are now in compliance with regulations specific to Canadian DVIR requirements. These regulations require a driver to describe inspection defects as “major” or “minor” when completing a driver vehicle inspection report. The regulations also require the capture and display of additional vehicle information including vehicle year, make, odometer, plate number, inspection location, vehicle ownership, and dates the vehicle was first and most recently operated. These fields display only when populated in the Vehicle Profile page, which has also bee updated. Turnpike now recognizes the jurisdiction (CA/US/MX) where the inspection occurred. A jurisdiction-specific inspection list is presented to the driver, and the correct data is recorded in TurnpikeDirect. ©XRS Corp. XA-8082 Rev. A Turnpike Host Release Notes 3 Vehicle Profile Updates The Vehicle Profile page in TurnpikeDirect has been updated with several new fields. These new fields include: • • • State/Prov. Dropdown: A two-letter abbreviation for the license plate field. Includes all states and provinces. Owned By: A new field to indicate owner. This field accepts up to 50 characters, and accepts alphanumeric and special characters as well as spaces. If Leased is checked, this is a required field. If Leased is checked: o The Owned By field is required. o The Leased Date field is required. If Leased Date is not known, then the creation date of the vehicle is used as the Leased Date. o Last Date Operated By Carrier is enabled. This new field is read-only. The value is determined by the date the vehicle status is set to Inactive. ©XRS Corp. XA-8082 Rev. A Turnpike Host Release Notes 4 Carrier and Fleet Information When a vehicle’s carrier location differs from the fleet location, Turnpike adjusts the way information is displayed, and accurately differentiates between carrier and fleet information. For example, in the image below, the carrier’s main headquarters is in Chicago, IL. However, the vehicle’s home terminal, or fleet, is in Minneapolis. Turnpike differentiates carrier and fleet information, including Group HOS settings. ©XRS Corp. XA-8082 Rev. Software Corrections This release includes software corrections to address existing issues, and to improve overall product performance and stability. Selected software corrections are described in the table below. If you have questions about the status of a specific issue, contact Solutions Support. Item Issue Description Customer Impact of Solution 1. Inserting Vehicle Inspections: If an unpaired inspection record was edited, then a user attempted to delete the inspection event, the system was unable to completely remove the event. As a result, a new inspection event could not be saved in TurnpikeDirect. This issue has been corrected. Updated vehicle inspection records can now be completely removed from TurnpikeDirect, and new inspection events can be added and saved successfully. 2. HOS Rule on Driver Log: The wrong HOS ruleset was showing on some driver logs. This issue has been corrected. The correct HOS ruleset is displayed on driver logs. ©XRS Corp. XA-8082 Rev. A Turnpike Host Release Notes 6 Item Issue Description Customer Impact of Solution 3. Deleting Vehicle Inspections: When a user attempted to delete a vehicle inspection, the line would turn red and the inspection appeared to be marked for deletion. When the page was reloaded, however, the inspection remained. This issue has been resolved. Users can now delete vehicle inspections successfully. 4. Co-Driver on Logs: In certain circumstances, a co-driver was added to a driver’s log on a day when there was no co-driver on a trip. This issue has been resolved. A co-driver entry is no longer present on logs for days with only one active driver. 5. Scroll Bars: The Unassigned Vehicle Activity page did not have scroll bars. It was not possible to see all events on the page. This issue has been corrected. When there are more events than can be displayed on one page, scroll bars allow a user to navigate the additional events. 6. Unassigned Vehicle Activity: In some circumstances, unassigned vehicle events appeared on the Unassigned Vehicle report, even though a driver was associated with the vehicle at the time of the reported events. This issue has been corrected. Vehicle activity is no longer reported as unassigned during times when the vehicle is associated with a driver. 7. Driver Assignment Summary: When the Driver Assignment Summary report was run for certain groups, the report did not complete successfully and results were not displayed. This issue has been corrected. The Driver Assignment Summary Report can now be run successfully regardless of the group selected. ©XRS Corp. XA-8082 Rev. A Turnpike Host Release Notes 7
