Phone and Voice Mail Help

Welcome to Lyman’s Phone System

our Voice-mailbox extension number is:
Your initial password is: 1111
To access your voice-mailbox from Lyman dial: 32146
To access your voice-mailbox from outside Lyman dial: 407-746-2146
If someone wishes to leave you a voice mail message and is calling from Lyman or another phone from within the
Seminole County School Board Phone System, they will dial 5 and your extension number
If someone wishes to leave you a voice mail message and is calling from outside Lyman they will dial:
746- [insert your extension number]
Below is some basic information about the phone system and attached are instructions for the Voice-mail system.
If you have additional questions about the phone/voice-mail system or encounter problems with your phone or
voice-mailbox, please email Jesse at [email protected].
Place a call, pickup the handset and:
 To dial a local number dial 9 + number
 To dial a long distance number dial 6 + number (limited to select phones)
 To call another phone at Lyman dial the phone number as listed
 To call another Seminole County School dial 5 and the last 4 digits of the phone number
To connect to the Front Office
 dial 0 or 32050
Transfer a Call
 To transfer a call to the front office press transfer and 0
 To transfer a call to another extension press transfer and then dial the extension number. You may then
hang up to complete the transfer
Place a Call on Hold
 Press the Hold button. To resume talking to the call on hold press the blinking light of the line you wish to
talk with
Using the Speaker:
 To make a call - Press SPKR key then dial
 To answer a call - Press the line key next to the blinking light or pickup handset
 To hang up - Press the line key or the SPKR key
Using the Mute Button
 To turn microphone off - press Mute - press Mute again to turn mike on.

Voice-Mail Set-Up Instructions
Access Voice-Mail
 To access your voice-mail box from Lyman dial: 32146
 To access your voice-mail box from outside Lyman dial: 407-746-2146
 Dial your extension number follow by the # sign.
 Dial your password followed by the # sign
At this point you are at the main menu in the voice-mail system. Now you can perform any of the functions listed
below to customize your voice-mail box.
Changing Your Password
(you must have completed the Access Voice-Mail instructions first)



Press 9 for mailbox options
Press 3 to change your password
Enter your new password, then press # the voice-mail system will verify your new password, and then
return you to the main menu
Recording Your Name
(you must have completed the Access Voice-Mail instructions first)
 Press 8 for answering options
 Press 4 to record your name
 Press 1 to start recording your name
 Press the  and # key when you finish recording
Recording or Changing Your Greeting
(you must have completed the Access Voice-Mail instructions first)




Press 8 for answering options
Press 1 for personal greeting
Press 1 to start recording your greeting
While you are recording your greeting you can press the  / 7 / 3 keys to replay the greeting or  / 6 / 1
keys to delete and re-record the greeting.
 Press  and # keys when you finish your recording
Sample greeting:
“Hello, you have reached the voice-mail box of _______________. Please leave a detailed message at the tone and I well
return your call as soon as possible. If you need to speak to someone right away please press 0 and # and you will be
transferred to someone who can help you. Thank you.”
Set up referral extension for 0 and # function
(you must have completed the Access Voice-Mail instructions first)
 Press 8 for answering options
 Press 3 set referral extension
 Press 1 change referral extension
 Enter the extension number of your backup or assistant
 Press the # key and the system will replay the extension number you entered.
 Press # key again to accept
Listening to messages
(you must have completed the Access Voice-Mail instructions first)




Press 3 listen to new or saved messages
Press 4 to save the message
Press 6 to delete the message
Press 7 and 3 keys to replay the message

Using control features
Below is a list of options available while listing to your messages.




















To decrease the message speed press 7
To decrease the volume of messages and prompts press 8
For help press 0
To increase the message speed press 9
To increase the volume of messages and prompts press 5
To override the message header in progress and listen to the message press 3
To skip backward from the message header in progress to the previous message header press 7 2
To stop a message and skip forward to the next message header press  2
To stop a message and resume listening to it press  3
To stop a message and save it press  4
To stop a message and delete it press  6
To stop a message and skip backward to the previous message header press  7 2
To stop a message and replay it from the beginning press  7 3
To stop a message and end the voice-mail session press  7 6
To stop a message and replay the message header with the time the message was created and received in
your voice-mail box press  7 7
To stop a message and replay the previous few seconds press  7 8
To stop a message and return to the main menu press  7 #
To stop a message and skip to the next message queue press  9 1
To stop a message and skip to the end of the message press  9 3
To stop a message and skip forward a few seconds press  9 8
Using custom features
Below is a list of options available to customize your phone.



To change the ring tone, dial *572 and then press keys 1 through 8 to hear the different tones. When you
find the tone you wish to use, hang up.
If you call someone and their phone is busy, you can park on their line by pressing #1 then hang up. When
their line becomes available your phone will begin to ring.
If you want to bypass the voice mail message press 1
