FRIDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER
LAST DAY OF TERM 3
2.30PM FINISH
It has been another great term of learning
at Oatlands Primary School, with many
events during the term to enhance student
learning.
A reminder that Friday is the last day of
Term 3 and school finishes at 2:30pm. I
hope all of our students have a safe,
relaxing and enjoyable two week break.
Prep Enrolments for 2016 & 2017
In 2016 we will have 9 classes of Prep
students. These classes are full and we
have a waiting list for students wishing to
enrol at Oatlands Primary School in Prep
for 2016 and who haven’t currently
secured a position.
We are now accepting enrolments for
Prep students for 2017. Please feel free to
book a tour of our school through the
office and pick up an enrolment form.
Book Week Dress-up Day
Last week we had our book character
dress-up day as a part of Book Week. It
was great to see the many different book
characters that both students and staff
came dressed as. Where’s Wally, Star
Wars Characters (Ms Jamieson was an
imposing Darth Vader) and Cat in a Hat
were popular characters. Well done to Mrs
Mills for organising the day.
School Disco
On Friday night we had our PFA School Disco.
Many of our students took advantage of the
chance to attend the disco. The feedback has
been very positive. Thank you to the PFA and
Fete Committee for organising the event,
along with parent volunteers and staff for
helping on the night.

New Concreting
This week the new section of concrete has
been finished. The concrete footpath
extends from the back of the BASC
Building around to the Bike Shed. This
footpath will provide all-weather access to
the new portable area.

SLAP CHEEK!
Attention all pregnant women, please be aware
that students from Oatlands Primary School
CANTEEN NEWS
have been diagnosed with the Slap Cheek virus.
Adverse reactions from the virus infection
during pregnancy are uncommon, however please
seek a medical opinion.
Symptoms:
Striking red cheeks, followed 1-4
days later by a lacy pink rash on the trunk and
limbs. The illness may also cause headache, itch
and upper respiratory tract symptoms.

2016 School Levies - $180
School Council has set the school fees for 2016 at
$180 and parents will be able to pay this from the
start of Term 4 this year. The school fees are made
up from the following individual components and if
these individually priced out (as per the summary
below) they would come to $222.41, thus constituting
very good value:
Student Supplies discounted bulk rate $60.00
Mathletics
$99.00
Printing
$10.00
Life Education Subsidy
$ 9.00
Paper
$ 7.90
Kitchen Classroom Supplies
$10.17
Photocopying
$11.34
School Magazine
$15.00
TOTAL
$222.41
Our online ordering system is up and
running. Thankyou to all families
who have used this system in term
3. As of Term 4 all lunch orders
need to be placed through the
online ordering system.
While I
know this will not be favourable to
some families, however canteen can
no longer continue with the manual
cash handling system. The canteen
area is constantly getting late
orders, incorrect monies placed in
bags and less volunteers to help the
smooth process of preparing your
child’s lunch.
The online system is very easy to
use, register at Flexischool.com.au
and follow the prompts.
I am available Monday, Wednesday
and Fridays should you have any
queries.

SAVE TIME, ORDER ONLINE!
We now have a great new online system to make the ordering of lunches easier and more
convenient.

Order at a time convenient to you
in the morning, night before, or weeks in advance!

No searching for cash required
It’s already paid online!

Teach students healthy eating in a fun way

Order from home or work
It’s so easy!
1) Go to www.flexischools.com.au
2) Click “Register Now” to create account
3) Top-up your balance
4) Start ordering immediately
To view a demonstration
go to the www.flexischools.com.au website and in the “Find Your
School” box, enter a few letters from our school name and click the
name when it appears below.
What Does it Cost?
The online menu is the same price as the usual menu. However, there
is a small fee for the online orders to help pay for the labels and the
website system. So why not order your next lunch online!
How Does It Work?
Go to www.flexischools.com.au and click
“Register Now” in the Login Box. Then
enter your student’s name, school and
class, and add funds (say $50) into a prepaid account. You can log into the
website at any time to place orders,
typically up until just before school starts.
As purchases are made, the funds are
taken from your pre-paid account. The
account can be topped up again in the
same way, or set to automatically top-up
via credit card when the balance falls
below a pre-set minimum. Each order is
sent automatically to the kitchen, where
an easy-to-read label is produced with the
student’s name, class and order details.
At lunch time, students can simply pick up
their order without the need for cash.
What payment methods can I use?
FlexiSchools accepts payment via Visa, Mastercard, and Bank Transfer. To perform a bank transfer
to your FlexiSchools account, click ‘Topup Account’ when logged into the FlexiSchools website and
select ‘Bank Transfer’; you will be given your unique EFT code. You can then make a transfer via
your bank’s internet facility or at your branch.
