Keep the pirates in the same groups as Activity 1 and equally distribute
the play coins to each group. Explain that each group should try to
determine as many ways as they can to make a dollar out of the coins.
Encourage them to be systematic in their thinking (i.e. starting with 1 coin
type, then 2, then 3, then 4 as in the table below). Have them write down
the coin combinations they come up with in their journals.
Here are some examples, but there are many more (with 3 and 4 coin

When the crew has had a chance to come up with a number of coin
