The successful candidate will hone their underwriting skills working alongside industry experts, leveraging their natural curiosity to and business acumen to grow this book of business. You will collaborate with our property underwriters, providing support on equipment breakdown coverage to offer our clients comprehensive insurance solutions. Your Impact: • Underwrite and quote new business, renewals and endorsements in accordance with our underwriting philosophy, rating, loss ratio objectives, service standards and authority levels for Equipment Breakdown business • Prepare quotes and negotiate as required • Maintain knowledge of wordings, rating, pricing, limits, and reinsurance • Actively market and promote the Equipment Breakdown coverage to our broker force • Development and maintain positive and constructive relationships with brokers and internal business partners • Review and approve referred Equipment Breakdown accounts within assigned authority • Proactively seek opportunities to incorporate Equipment Breakdown coverage into other lines of business to offer more comprehensive insurance solutions • Create and deliver training on Equipment Breakdown to our regional offices • Act as an internal resource for advice and guidance on Equipment Breakdown coverage • Demonstrate a team-oriented approach to meeting corporate goals and objectives Your Expertise: • • • • • • • • Minimum 3 years Commercial Underwriting experience A strong interest in Equipment Breakdown insurance CIP/FCIP designation or current enrolment preferred University degree or college diploma is considered an asset Effective marketing and relationship building skills to support our business development initiatives Exceptional customer service skills Experience conducting presentations and speaking in front of groups Strong negotiation and decision-making skills • • • Ability to prioritize multiple projects Bilingual ( English-French) Travel may be required Your Next Steps: To learn more about the impact you can make, apply to join Sovereign’s talented team of professionals and stand out from the crowd!
