We are currently seeking a focused and motivated Family Services Manager for our
Head Start Early Learning Centers based in Denver, CO. This position is a regular
fulltime, year-round positions and are eligible for our generous benefit offerings

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Family and Community Partnership Coordinator this
position has primary responsibility for the Family Services component for the agency’s
early learning programs. This position provides the instruction, planning and guidance
for all family services, parent involvement, parent advisory council (PAC) and parent
meetings as part of implementation of the Parent, Family and Community Framework
for Rocky Mountain SER.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES





Monitors attendance records for the program, including defining causes of
absenteeism.
Maintains connections with community agencies for recruitment information.
Ensure information regarding recruitment is provided to staff, Community
Partners, and public service informational venues.
Creates recruitment and selection criteria training material.
Monitors family partnership agreements and child file case notes.
























Assists staff in determining individual family needs and developing a plan with
the family to meet those needs.
Assists staff in providing services to the families and children including
conferences with staff members, review of each child’s records (evaluating
documentation of home visits, family assessments, Family Partnership
Agreements, and other functions.
Assures Family Advocate (FA) staff engage in ECEP activities; plans, designs
and implements program involvement activities with the FA.
Provides assistance to the FA’s regarding referrals as needed.
Develops referral resources for crisis intervention, including situations such as
child abuse, domestic violence and emergency food and housing needs.
Updates the directory of services in the ECEP communities
Facilitate volunteer training and orientation with regular parent volunteers and all
community volunteers.
Provides training to staff in the use of volunteers and In-Kind program.
Oversees parent meetings and Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
Schedules parenting classes as needed.
Responsible for the development and updating of the Volunteer Handbook
annually.
Monitor and assure regular volunteers obtain and submit proof of TB screenings
and fingerprints for background screenings.
Schedules parenting classes as needed.
Will arrange translation services at PAC meetings when needed.
Collect and monitor PAC sign-ins, meeting agendas, minutes and child care
paperwork.
Collect PAC monthly mileage forms for processing and payment.
Submit required paperwork for child care payment for Parent Advisory
Committee.
Collect and review in-kind summary report forms.
Assist with the preparation and distribution of In-Kind reports associated with
Federal grant requirements.
Responsible for training the Parent Advisory Committee.
Enter all data pertaining to volunteer program and In-Kind contributions into the
agency’s information tracking system (PROMIS). Assist with enrollments and
recruitment.
Participates in the Department’s annual self-assessment.
Up to 605 of travel required.
Participates in ECEP program planning
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in a Social Work, Human Services or other closely related field.
SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
















Minimum of three (3) years of experience in family services, case management,
volunteer management and/or program and community development.
Experience and training related to social, human and family development.
Ability to react with flexibility and sensitivity to changing situations and needs; act
resourcefully to solve problems.
Demonstrates ability to express the appropriate sense of urgency in dealing with
family situations that require additional resources and assistance.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge and application of technology and
systems such as of MS Word, Excel and email required.
English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) is required for all positions.
Some areas may require bi-lingual (English, Spanish or other language) based
upon parent/student populations.
Must be able to fulfill role as a mandated reporter and follow rules regarding
the identification and reporting of possible child abuse and neglect.
Must be able to assist and attend Agency functions after hours and/or on a
weekend for functions related to ERSEA, family engagement, children events,
and other events that benefit children and families in the community.
Must be able to express the utmost attention to attendance and timeliness so
as to ensure center compliance.
Knowledgeable in applying strategies to work with diverse populations.
Ability to understand and adhere to strict confidentiality standards and maintain
boundaries.
Must have excellent communication skills (i.e.; read, write, and understand
written and oral communications).
Must be people oriented and demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and
positive attitude.
Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to work independently and within a group setting.
Ability to read and follow detailed schedules, policies, standards and
regulations.
