A FIREMAN’S PRAYER
FELLOW FIREMEN,
We have gathered here this morning to pay a last
tribute to Keith James Ferris as he is laid to rest.
Our remembrance of him will always be pleasant –
memories of a capable and upright officer with the
courage of his convictions – may our presence here
be taken as a token of the high regard in which we
held him. Let our sorrow now stir us to support and
help those who are left, and may the Honour we wish
to accord him proclaim to all, the unity of the N.Z.
Fire Service, and the collective unshaken friendship
of all firemen, in the self-sacrificing work of our
calling.Lord, please help us to show by our lives and
actions our dedication to duty, may our work be an
inspiration to all those service personnel who
undertake unselfish acts for the public good, as
he this fireman, who has gone before us.
Now unto the King Eternal – Immortal – Invisible –
the only wise God, be Honour and
Glory for ever and ever.
Amen

You Light Up My Life
HOW GREAT THOU ART
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the works Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art, How great Thou art
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art, How great Thou art
When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart,
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, My God how great Thou art.
