LEIPSIC/COLUMBUS GROVE PINK GAME

Leipsic High School will be this year’s site for the annual “Hoops for Hope” on Saturday, January 14th,
when the Leipsic Vikings face the Columbus Grove Bulldogs in 5 Putnam County League basketball
games. The ‘pink game’ has been a tradition between the two schools since 2013.
The day will start with the freshmen girls playing at 10:45 am; at noon the JV and varsity girls will play.
The JV and varsity boys will battle it out beginning at 6 pm. All games will be played in the varsity
gymnasium.
Keeping with the fundraising tradition of past ‘pink games’, there will be various gift basket raffles, a
bake sale, and a 3-point shot contest during half-time of the girls’ and boys’ varsity games. Something
new this year will be a craft fair and bake sale from 10 am until 3 pm. Questions regarding the craft fair
should be emailed to Stacy Campbell at [email protected]. Leipsic High School’s FFA members
will be hosting a Chicken BBQ from 3:30 – 6:30 pm. Pre-sale tickets will be for sale at every Leipsic home
game until Christmas. Other activities include: face painting; pink hair extensions; pink bracelets; and a
dollar dash competition during halftime of the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball games.
Proceeds from the day’s events will benefit the Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program. CAP was
established to reduce some of the financial burden of cancer treatments by providing reimbursement
for prescription expenses, mileage reimbursement, and financial assistance for supplies associated with
having cancer. CAP is a non-profit organization and 100% of your donation will go to patients in
Putnam County.
