vid provides two etymologies for June's name
in his poem concerning the months entitled
the Fasti. The first is that the month is named after
the Roman goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter and
equivalent to the Greek goddess Hera. The second
is that the name comes from the Latin word
iuniores, meaning "younger ones," as opposed to
maiores ("elders") for which the preceding month
May may be named.
June is known for the large number of marriages
that occur over the course of the month. According
to the first etymology, June is named after Juno
(Hera) who was the goddess of marriage and a
married couple's household, so some consider it
good luck to be married in this month.
In Iceland, folklore says that if you bathe naked in
the morning dew on the morning of June 24, you
are supposed to keep aging at bay for longer. This
might be linked to the fact that June's birthstones
are the Alexandrite, the Moonstone (gemstone),
and the pearl which meaning are health and
longevity.
Finally, all the younger ones will end school in this
month of June and I wish all of them happy
summer holidays!

Coming to Vietnam for the first time, many things remain unfamiliar and
unknown. Living at Riverside, you know that you are in a safe
community with all foreign amenities available to you.
The apartments themselves are large, spacious and well kept, having
housekeeping 3 times are week who not only cleans but changes linen
and towels is a blessing; Maintenance issues (when they seldomly
arise) are dealt with within 30 min; 24 hr customer service all speak
very good English; the convenient of taking the boat into town is such a
treat.
Living at Riverside, the kids had the luxury of enjoying a brand new
childrens playground at their door step, whilst my husband and I are
able to go to the onsite gym or have a game of tennis. There is even a
social tennis club for the tenants of Riverside.
What impressed me the most was the "Dog Run" probably the only
place in Vietnam that offers such a luxury. We had more than enough
trouble getting our Jack Russell into Vietnam and then finding out that
Riverside caters for all family members is such a blessing.
We have never felt safer anywhere else around and would never leave
Riverside unless the world was to blow over. Worth every dollar spent!
