Summary Page Guidelines

A GREAT 3x3x3 Summary Project
needs:
-A
LARGE and colorful
title (“Writing
the
Constitution”)
-6 BIG IDEAS from the Unit
-3 ideas in pictures or symbols
-3 ideas in words or phrases
-Make clear WHY or HOW your 6 ideas relate to the title.
i.e. George Washington : (
George Washington = the first U.S. President : )
Virginia Plan : (
Virginia Plan favored the large states : )
-Make sure you use at least 3 colors and be sure each of
your 6 ideas is colored.
4x4x4’s later in the year will have 8 Big
Ideas (4 in words or phrases, 4 in
pictures or symbols and use at least 4
different colors)
Grading a 3x3x3:
--Each BIG idea that relates back to the title is worth 10
points for a total of 60 points. No partial credit will be given
for items that are not linked back to the title (see George
Washington example). This is a Summary Project worth a
major grade and you must show the significance of your
idea to the title/unit.
--10 points are earned for each of the minimum three colors
for a total of 30 points. A maximum of 5 points will be lost if
three colors are used but not all 6 items are colored.
--The final 10 points come from the large and colorful title
(no title=-10 points)
Grading changes for a 4x4x4:
--Each Big Idea & each of the 3 Colors are worth 8 points
--The title is worth 4 points
