Inset: Shelley as a bridesmaid Power boat racer Shelley Jory has dressed 12,000 brides – and now she’s looking forward to walking down the aisle herself. She talks to KATE THOMPSON OWN LAST! “Meeting the ladies who had made my dress and seeing how much they cared made me cry more than seeing my dress for the first time. “I am absolutely delighted with it – it fits like a glove,” she said. Racing on the continent, Shelley has always been proud to trailblaze the name of Southampton and she has recently signed up to become a City Champion with Business Southampton. “I've always been proud to be associated with Southampton. I was born in Warsash and now live back there. “It’s great to be a City Champion and I am looking forward to playing a more active role with Business Southampton,” she said. Shelley and Trevor are marrying at Wimborne Minster on November 19 and the happy couple will leave the ceremony to the appropriately named Southampton from the soundtrack of Titanic. Shelley and Trevor will have their reception at the glamorous Chewton Glen hotel and spend their honeymoon on board the QM2 – and both the five star hotel and Cunard are City Champions, too. Shelley admitted planning her own nuptials has given her a greater insight into what brides go through in their bid to create the perfect occasion for their guests. “I feel I am even closer to the brides-to-be who come to me Marks and Spencer grey belted coat, £99.
