Rules for computer network of Club Hlávkova kolej
§1
General provisions
1. This internal regulation of club Hlávkova kolej sets general rules for users of the computer network, run and
administered by club Hlávkova kolej.
2. This regulation is in accordance with following superior regulations:
a) Rules for usage of CTU Student Union networks (Pravidla užívání sítí Studentské unie ČVUT);
b) Rules for usage of CTU network (Pravidla užívání sítě ČVUT);
c) Principles of acceptable usage of national research and education network CESNET2 („Zásady přijatelného
užití sítě národního výzkumu a vzdělávání CESNET2”).
3. This regulation uses following terms and abbreviations:
a) Club / KHK – club Hlávkova kolej;
b) KR / DB – board of club Hlávkova kolej;
c) President – President of the club Hlávkova kolej;
d) Administrator – Administrator of the club Hlávkova kolej computer network elected by the board;
e) RUPS – User registry of the club Hlávkova kolej computer network;
f) User – a member of the of the club Hlávkova kolej registered in the User registry of the club Hlávkova kolej
computer network (RUPS);
g) Computer network – a functionally intertwined complex of technical devices (Ethernet or radio) for information
transport between endpoints of the computer network;
h) Club Hlávkova kolej computer network / HK computer network– a part of the computer network run and
administered by the club Hlávkova kolej;
i) Computer – user’s technical device (Ethernet or radio) which can be connected to an endpoint of the computer
network following a given protocol;
j) Network service – a set of application protocols for supply and transport of information in the computer
network;
k) Public network service – a network service that excludes no user by default.
§2
Administration of the HK computer network
1. Administration of the HK computer network follows ensuing hierarchy:
a) President;
b) Administrator;
c) Deputy Administrator.
2. Computer network is technically and methodically administered by DB.
3. Administrators of the HK computer network are obliged to:
a) Secure a safe running of the computer network;
b) Assure (to the best of their abilities) the highest quality of the network services possible;
c) Give access rights to the users with valid request without delay.
4. Administrators of the HK computer network are forbidden to:
a) Misuse their service network administration competence;

b) Misuse information obtained during administration of the network services.
5. The HK Club is not responsible for damage or loss of the user data by any means.
§3
Network services access rights
1. HK Computer network can only be used by users registered in RUPS.
2. Network services access rights are assigned by the administrator by request of the user. Assigned network services
access rights can be limited given that the user breaches the terms for their unlimited use.
3. User can request network services access rights to any public network service.
§4
User rights
1. User is allowed to use the HK computer network only for educational, scientific, research, development and creative
purposes, or tasks set by the HK club, CTU Student Union or CTU.
2. User is only allowed to use legally obtained software and only within licencing conditions of the software and
legislation.
3. User is fully responsible for all information disclosed to the HK computer network.
4. User is obliged to:
a) follow the provisions of this regulation and all superior regulations;
b) follow the rules of other computer networks used by the HK computer network;
c) follow any further rules specifying the use of network services;
d) inform the administrator about all the connected devices;
e) inform the administrator about any changes to the information registered in RUPS immediately;
f) keep the security of all connected devices at the highest level;
g) inform the administrator about any unauthorized privileges or access rights gained by any means (including
hardware and software mistakes) immediately.
5. User is forbidden to:
a) use the HK computer network for activities conflicting activities of the Club, CTU Student Union or CTU
b) use the HK computer network for commercial purposes;
c) use the HK computer network for activities that might harm or limit other users;
d) circulate software or multimedia content falling under the copyright without consent of the owner;
e) provide access to the network services to another person;
f) misuse negligence of another user (e.g. forgotten signing out) for actions under their identity;
g) misuse the HK computer network in order to obtain other than authorized access rights to any computer service;
h) act on gaining access to protected information and data of other users.
§5
Penalties
1. User breaching the terms of this internal regulation will be penalized based on the severity of the offence by:
a) a reproof;
b) a partial or complete limitation of access to the network services;
c) penalties from non-Club institutions (Disciplinary Committee of the CTU Student Union; Disciplinary
Committee of the CTU);
d) a report to the Police authorities.
2. The penalty is chosen by the administrator.

3. User can appeal the penalty to the DB. The appeal is to be handed to the President.
4. In case of less serious offence the user can be, upon agreement, given an alternative punishment in form of a task
beneficial to the Club, CTU Student Union or CTU. Upon finishing the task, the punishment can be, under paragraph
1, adequately lowered or cancelled.
5. Given penalty does not exclude other penalties consequential to the breach of other regulations.
§6
Validity
This internal regulation comes into effect on the day of validation by the DB.
