Cherokee Christian Middle School Supply List 2017-2018 Please provide the basics and do not bring a lot of extras to school as there is limited space in the lockers. Required General Supplies -- Please Replenish as needed Flash drive is required for projects and papers Pencils w/ extra lead for mechanical pencils Additional erasers Any colored pen except red Highlighters College-ruled loose-leaf notebook paper – for ALL classes ALL year! Pencil pouch to store supplies Locker accessories: lockers are equipped with built-in shelves; no other permanent fixtures, including tape, are allowed, but accessories such as mirrors, magnets, and cups are permitted Electives & Specials Additional materials may be required for electives and enrichment classes. Teachers will distribute that information to students/parents on the first day of class. Organizational Systems: Students should be organized in such a way that gets them to and from class with supplies, materials and papers. Many teachers already require a separate notebook, or have an organizational plan of their own. Before buying something expensive, you may want to wait to see if it is needed. A trapper-keeper type notebook with a shoulder strap seems to be the system of choice with middle school students, but it is not required and they tend to not fit in book bags or lockers. The notebooks with accordion pleated pocket folders included work well. Another method is to have a spiral notebook with a matching folder of the same color--these two always stay together with the textbook. Some students do well to coordinate colors of supplies with subjects, or even to the main color of the textbook, such as: Bible = purple supplies; English=yellow; math=blue; history=red; science=green so that when they look in their locker they look for colors. Additional Information: 5th and 6th graders are required to use a Planner, which will be provided on the first day of school. Students are required to use the planner daily. It may also be used as a hall pass and library checkout. Surplus and specialty supplies should be kept in an educational center at home readily available to the student. Gym clothes and lunch boxes are to be kept in the locker. No bags, lunchboxes, etc. may be stored in the restrooms throughout the day.
