TSX ETF LISTINGS: 400 AND COUNTING
Toronto Stock Exchange listed its 400th ETF in the second quarter of 2016, with the number rising to 420 by
June 30. Since the beginning of 2011, the number of ETFs listed on TSX has more than doubled.
Exchange Traded Fund (ETFs) industry participants joined Shaun McIver, Chief Client Officer, Equity Capital Markets, TMX Group, on May 4,
2016, to open the market in celebration of TSX reaching a new Exchange Traded Fund milestone. In attendance were representatives from the
16 ETF providers, the Canadian ETF Association, and other ETF service providers.

NEW PROVIDERS
TWO NEW PROVIDERS ENTERED THE TSX ETF SPACE IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2016.
In April, Mackenzie Investments launched four actively managed
fixed-income ETFs that aim to provide investors expanded, costeffective access to fixed income securities. They followed up their
initial launch in June with the addition of two smart beta ETFs that
are designed to track the performance of select rules-based indices
from the TOBAM Maximum Diversification Index Series.
Sphere Investment Management Inc. launched four ETFs in April
based on smart beta/factor-tilted methodologies. The initial suite
of ETFs seek to track FTSE Sustainable Yield indices and provide
investors access to Canada, U.S., Europe, and Asia.
