charges will be paid by Outdoor Shower Company. Replacement parts are in stock and can ship from the manufacturer in 7 to 10
days.
What is 316 Stainless Steel?
The difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel is the presence of molybdenum, which makes 316 marine grade stainless
steel impervious to damage from salt water and chlorine. Contrary to its name, stainless steel is valued for its anti-corrosion properties rather than its resistance to staining. It’s an alloy composed primarily of iron—but when combined with other elements, it can
achieve properties desirable for a range of applications. Chromium is the defining ingredient that makes stainless steel what it is,
making up a minimum of 10.5 percent of total composition. Other common alloy ingredients include nickel, titanium, aluminum,
copper, nitrogen, phosphorous and selenium. For outdoor site furnishings, stainless steel is an ideal corrosion-resistant material that
will withstand long-term exposure to the environment.
Mirror Finish vs. Brushed Finish
When 316 stainless steel has a MIRROR finish (perfectly smooth surface), this enhances its resistance to corrosion. When the 316
surface is brush/satin finish, the roughness caused from the brushing produces a slight textured surface that can host dirt, lime and
micro-particles that can appear like rust, though it is usually staining caused by particles.
Brushed 316 steel is available and has the same guarantee as mirror 316 steel, but higher attention must be paid to periodical
cleaning with Stainless Steel Cleaner and a Scotch-brite pad. This will also protect the surface from lime or dirt surface deposits.
For Brushed Finish add 5% of the MSRP to the price of Mirror Finish items.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
WARRANTY
Outdoor Shower Company guarantees the FTA 316 stainless steel products for a period of five (5) years against faults in the
material or construction, defect, or workmanship by the manufacturer. Chrome Plated Brass Accessories are covered by the
warranty for a period of two (2) years. These warranties begin on the date the product is delivered to the customer by freight
carrier. The warranty does not include damage from freight carriers, faulty installation, failure to comply with cleaning and maintenance instructions, or freeze damage, and will become void if merchandise is damaged from misuse, improperly maintained
or installed, or modified without the authorization from a licensed distributor. The warranties include replacement or repair of
defective parts and an unconditional guarantee against manufacturing defects. The manufacturer will replace or repair at its own
discretion any manufactured or supplied part found to be defective if the conditions are met. Any shipping fees associated with the
return or replacement of merchandise covered by this warranty will be incurred by Outdoor Shower Company, LLC. We reserve
the right to determine if damage to a unit or any parts is the direct cause of not complying with manufacturer’s guidelines or freeze damage.
FREEZE DAMAGE is NOT covered by the warranty
It is very important to winterize outdoor showers. Just like water faucets and hose bibbs, they are susceptible to freeze damage.
A cut-off valve should be installed in the water line, and the unit(s) must be drained in freezing conditions. If the entire shower
cannot be removed it is advisable to remove faucet handles and cartridges, hand sprays, foot showers, shower heads, and hose
bibbs, and store them during winter months. When a cut off valve is installed in the water line(s) that connect to the outdoor shower it is possible to remove the entire unit and store it, or drain the unit of all water and blow out the system with compressed air.

CAUTION
In warm climates use caution to prevent burns to skin from scalding water. Water is stored in the body of most shower units and
water lines when it is not in use, and although the finish of the shower unit has minimal solar gain, water in the shower unit can
reach more than 110° which can result in minor burns to delicate skin tissue. Outdoor Shower Company, LLC does not accept
responsibility for bodily injury caused from improper use of its equipment or failure to use caution when operating the shower
unit(s).
DISCOLORATION OR STAINING
Stainless Steel does not “rust” as one thinks of regular steel rusting. If you see “discoloration” it is likely the product was contaminated from an outside source or chemical, or there is iron in the water supplied to the shower unit.
cleaning
Never clean stainless steel with steel wool or abrasive cleaner. Do not use steel wool, sandpaper, mineral acids, bleaches,
abrasive cleaners, or chlorine cleansers to clean stainless steel. In most cases, light staining can be removed with a fine stainless steel cleaner or non-metallic abrasive scouring pads such as a Scotch-Brite. WD-40 is an excellent and practical cleaner and
polish for stainless steel.
Note: Even though Stainless Steel is one of the most durable products available for outdoor use, it must be cleaned and maintained regularly like any other outdoor fixture. As with a product such as a stainless steel sink, other metals can contaminate the
surface and cause rust spots. Cleaning with a stainless steel cleaner will prevent build up and protect the surface.

READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE CLEANING
DO . . .
1. Rinse off stainless steel frequently with fresh water to wash away accumulated chemicals such as chlorine and
wipe dry with a clean cloth. Especially try to clean equipment immediately after use around chemicals (chlorine
powder, seawater, etc.)
2. Clean frequently with a cleaner and water. Any cleaner that is safe for glass is usually safe for stainless steel.
Sprayway Stainless Steel Cleaner can be purchased at most home improvement stores. Some customers have
also had good results cleaning with WD-40. Both products add a protective layer.
3. Inspect equipment frequently, if you notice discoloration, tarnish, or water stains, increase the frequency of rinses
and cleaning to reduce the possibility of any accumulated chemicals.
4. If you see any rust spots or staining, remove as soon as possible to prevent surface damage.
1. Do not use steel wool, sandpaper, or mineral acids, bleaches or chlorine cleansers.
2. Do not add chlorine to your pool nearby your stainless steel equipment. Add it as far away as possible and rinse
stainless steel products with clear water.
3. Do not store stainless steel equipment in a closed area underneath steel beams to avoid corrosive condensation
from dripping onto to the equipment and leaving brown spots.
4. Do not store stainless steel equipment where it will attract and retain moisture or airborne contaminants and do
not store equipment in the same areas as chlorine.
CLEANING DIRECTIONS:
Wet a Scotch-Brite (non metal) cleaning pad with fresh water (do not use salt or chlorinated water) and apply cleaner. Using gentle
pressure, rub stained areas in the same direction of the existing polishing grain until stains are removed. Rinse with clean water
and throughly dry the stainless steel. A soft paste wax, such as automotive wax, can prevent corrosive elements from adhering to
the surface and enhance the appearance of the shower.

PRE-INSTALLATION
1. It is recommended that a cut-off valve be installed in order to winterize the shower unit. Showers equipped with
metered self-closing valves should have a filter in order to prevent particles from causing it to malfunction which
would void the warranty.
2. INSTALL PIPE BELOW THE FROST LINE IN YOUR AREA.
3. Water supply pipe should be finished off with a 1/2” male thread.
4. IT IS IMPORTANT TO FLUSH WATER LINES BEFORE CONNECTING TO SHOWER UNIT.

INSTALLATION
1. Place the shower column into position and trace the fixation holes. Remove the column
2. Drill 1/2” diameter holes to a depth of 6”.
3. Mount the washers and the blocking nuts on the threaded stems supplied, taking care not
to tighten the nuts (leave at half-run).
4. Inject two-component resin, starting from the bottom of the holes. Place the column in
position.
5. Insert the threaded stems inside the holes, rotating them in order to allow the resin to fill
the holes.
6. Remove the excess resin and clean. Wait for resin to dry following the manufacturer’s
instructions.
7. Unscrew the nut and the washer. Remove the column.
8. Connect the supply pipe to the 1/2” loose nut of flexible pipe.
9. Slide the supply pipe into the corrugated pipe.
10. Connect the end of supply pipe to the stop valve installed inside in the inspection well.
11. Check the static seal, with tap/mixer in position of closed water.
12. Place the column onto the threaded stems. Insert washers on stems and tighten the blocking nuts using a 1/2”
wrench. Check the column uprightness using a level. In case of misalignment, loosen the blocking nuts and insert
thicknesses between the floor and the column base flange.
13. Install the accessories supplied.

1. When installed where there is a long period of freezing temperatures, it is recommended that the entire shower
unit be removed.
2. If not possible, remove accessories: handshower, shower head, hose bibb, valve parts including cartridge.

FREE STANDING SHOWER COLUMNS

FOLLOW PREVIOUS PRE-INSTALLATION GUIDES FOR STEPS 1-4.
These shower units have not been treated with any chemical product or varnish, in order to let copper and brass
surfaces oxidize. In case the user wishes to keep the original brightness of the surface, clean it periodically using
metal polishers.
1. Place the shower column into position and trace the fixation holes. Remove the column

1. Use the Allen key supplied to adjust flow duration which can vary from 0 to 50 seconds.
2. The cartridge is made with brass and includes a flow restrictor and stainless steel filter.
3. In order to prevent frequent cartridge cleaning it is recommended that a self-cleaning
filter be installed up stream of the shower column.
4. Flush supply pipes before installing the shower unit.
5. If any malfunctioning is detected during installation, remove cartridge and wash
under running water.

Install valve ±43” from flooring surface according to the desired height of the shower head.
Hot & cold water supply line center spread: 6”
Ensure that they are level.
Flush water lines.
Attach ¾” unions by turning clockwise.
Attach escutcheons and install mixer by screwing in both ¾” nuts onto unions.
Mark placement of drill hole for wall bracket by lining up the riser with the valve.
Attach wall bracket.
