We are happy to present a packed summer of activities for residents of all ages. An annual favourite such as the City’s Day Camp will return this year; as well as new additions to the programming including Super Summer Camp and Band Camp. For those anxious to get out without all the winter gear, summer is your time to explore Yellowknife’s many beautiful trails and lakes, or to help us keep the city clean by participating in the Adopt-A-Street Program. New since last year, but already a favourite, are Movies in the Park. Once September comes around with its earlier sunsets, we will turn Somba K’e Civic Plaza into an outdoor movie theatre once again. With festivities planned for Canada’s 150th anniversary, as well as Yellowknife’s 50th anniversary as the capital of the NWT, this summer will not disappoint in keeping you and your family busy exploring, trying new activities and enjoying our beautiful city.
