Introduction
ICT has proven to be the leader of economic and social growth for communities,
especially the developing ones.
Egypt has set a national strategy to spread technology parks across its
governorates building on its value proposition that includes large scalable talent
pool, well-established nationwide Internet and telecom network, government
belief and support to ICT, and accumulated park experience in the past two
decades.
The ultimate targets are to build ecosystems to be nodes and lighthouses for ICT
development and to pull the economy of these governorates leading to better life
for all citizens across Egypt.
Accumulated experience has proven that the government should take the lead in
such projects to prove of concept encouraging the private sector to partner in a
Public-Private Partnership model where the private sector to mainly invest, build,
operate, and hopefully replicate the whole model.
The project achieves its developmental goals in a feasible financial and
sustainable model by:
o Integrating intensive-labor businesses with businesses that offer
rewarding financial returns and thus setting a better lifestyle for the
employees and citizens.
o Presenting high-standard high-revenue-generating services.
o Collaborating with the right national and international partners to run
non-core side businesses.
The project establishes proper ecosystem for business communities by providing the
following:
o Accessibility: Access to major national roads, rail networks, and
international airports.
o Connectivity: Avail reliable advanced redundant telecommunication
infrastructure (fiber connectivity, advanced Internet and broadband
services, data centers).
o Reliability: Provide high-tech utility infrastructure for power supply,
water, and fire and irrigation systems with solutions for redundancy.
o Sustainability: Complement different stakeholders to ensure the best
business ecosystem.
