1. These poster sizes are set by Research Services for posters that will be used for UW-Stout
Research day, Posters in the Rotunda, and Symposium.
2. The UW-Stout Shield and Bar logo is a UW-Stout Standard and must be included on your
research poster. For your convenience, it is already on the templates.
3. The addition of “University of Wisconsin-Stout” (without the quotation marks) is a UW-Stout
Standard and must be included on all posters.
4. Having a title of at least 2 inches ensures that the titles can easily be read from a distance.
5. Having the subtitles of 1 inch or more ensures that the researcher and institution can be
identified easily.
6. Sans-Serif fonts are easier to read at a distance.
7. Large headings are easy to read and help to identify the main sections of your poster.
8. Adequate text size makes it easier to read your poster.
9. Margins around the edges and adequate spacing within the poster keeps the poster from
looking cramped. Adequate spacing gives your poster a more professional appearance.
Please remember that items 1, 2, and 3 are requirements set by Research Services and UW-Stout
If you do not follow requirements 1, 2, and 3, Research Services will not pay to have your poster
printed. It is also possible that you will not be allowed to present your poster if you do not meet the
requrements.
