Instructions for using this form
Thank you for taking the time to complete this form, which will be used to populate your area’s/team’s
Practice Environment Profile (PEP). Once uploaded to ARC’s PEP-Net system, your PEP information
will be visible to any student who has been allocated to your area/team to allow them to prepare
themselves for their impending placement. It is therefore important that all information provided is
correct and up-to-date.
You will note that we have tried to pre-populate information in an effort to save you time. With the
exception of the Placement Name field, all of the information we’ve included can be amended or added
to by clicking within the box it’s held in – some boxes will require that you click on the small plus-sign in
order to see everything written within them.
Whilst completion of all fields is not mandatory, we would ask that you provide as much additional
information in the remainder of the fields as you possibly can within the space provided; as the PEP is
designed to fulfil the role previously played by the Portfolio of Learning Opportunities (POLO) in
preparing students for entering your area/team, we’d like it to be as comprehensive as possible.
Notwithstanding this, we understand that some of the fields will not apply to your area/team – where
this is the case, please simply leave the field blank; blank fields will not be visible to students viewing
the PEP.
Once the form has been completed, please ensure you save it in the format PlacementName.pdf to
ensure that we are able to easily recognise and categorise it. The completed form should be sent via
e-mail to [email protected]
If you have any queries on completing this form, please don’t hesitate to contact Jonathon Devitt, ARC
PEP-Net Project Administrator, using the e-mail address quoted above, or by calling 0191 215 6474.
For more information about the ARC PEP-Net Project, additional copies of this form and more detailed
written and video guides to completing it, please visit the Project Team’s website www.northumbria.ac.uk/sd/academic/sches/programmes/placements/arcpepnetproject
