The modes of writing that can
be chosen are as follows:
You may wish to write an internal monologue as one of
the characters in the films or create extra dialogue that
could be inserted into the action.
Expository
In this mode, you explore issues that are depicted
in one or more of the films. These issues may
include encouraging safety on our roads or teenage
relationships and peer pressure. Regarding the form,
you could write a feature article or an informative
journal piece that addresses your chosen issue.
Persuasive
Note: This activity
follows on from
Road Safety Short
Film Analysis.
You are required to develop a contention (a main
argument) for a piece of writing and present reasons
that justify your opinion. You may wish to explore
ideas such as driving curfews for probationary licence
holders between midnight and 5.00am or increasing
the age at which a person can consume alcohol on
licenced premises from 18 to 21 to address concerns
over drink driving. This could be written in the form of
a letter to the editor, an editorial or an opinion piece
in a newspaper.
