DELECTUS SEMINUM List of seeds and spores available in 2015 Address: Kumpula Botanic Garden P.O. Box 44 (Jyrängöntie 2) FI-00014 UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI FINLAND email: [email protected] www.luomus.fi ebgconsortiumindexseminum2015 Cover picture The south facade of the main greenhouses of University of Helsinki Botanic Garden in Kaisaniemi. The greenhouses were designed by Gustaf Nyström and built in 1889 and in 1896. They were thoroughly refurbished in 1996–1998. News from the Finnish Museum of Natural History Renovation project in the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden was initiated in the summer 2011. In the outdoor garden the service maintenance was shifted nearer the northern gate of the garden. Moreover, the fence in the northern side of the garden was completely repaired and some trails were relocated. In the summer 2014 the whole systematic garden was rebuilt and reorganized according to APG III classification. The site was cleaned from the old topsoil, a subsurface draining and irrigation system were installed and new plant beds were bordered with larch timber. The whole renovation project will continue in the summer 2015 by planting new plant taxa in their relevant beds following modern systematic understanding. ebgconsortiumindexseminum2015 DELECTUS SEMINUM List of seeds and spores available at the Botanic Gardens of the University of Helsinki in 2015 Edited by: Mari Miranto, Leo Junikka, Mikko Piirainen & Paula Havas-Matilainen Helsinki February 2015 Publisher: Botany Unit Finnish Museum of Natural History - LUOMUS University of Helsinki Address: Kumpula Botanic Garden P.O.Box 44 (Jyrängöntie 2) FI-00014 UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI FINLAND Email: [email protected] http://www.luomus.fi ebgconsortiumindexseminum2015 CONDITIONS FOR EXCHANGE OF PLANT MATERIAL The Botanic Gardens of the Botany Unit, Finnish Museum of Natural History, University of Helsinki (subsequently referred to as ‘the Garden’) recognizes the legal and moral obligations imposed on its work by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD, Rio de Janeiro 1992), the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), and other agreements and laws relating to the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity.
