Agency Mission Statement:
Advocates for Children recruits, trains and supports Court Appointed Social Advocate (CASA)
volunteers to be a powerful voice in the lives of abused and neglected children who are
removed from their home through no fault of their own. CASA volunteers make a life-long
difference for vulnerable children by ensuring that every child finds his “forever family” and
has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, loving and permanent home. Children with a CASA
volunteer receive more services and are half as likely to linger in foster care the child welfare
system.

The BCHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and assisting animals in the
Bartholomew County area. We offer shelter to homeless and abandoned animals as well as

Agency Mission Statement:
The Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club is a group of enthusiastic, fun-loving people who work
together to improve their community and there world. The mission of the Club and Rotary
International is service above self. We meet for breakfast on Friday mornings at Donner
Center from 7:00-8:00 a.m. Weekly meeting consists of fellowship and a presentation from a
local community organization. Members work together on community projects. There is a
wide variety of opportunities for service.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Members have provided volunteer support for local organizations including; Love
Chapel, Turning Point, and School Supply Assistance Program. Sunrise members
provided a playground for tots at Turning Point Domestic Violence shelter in 2014.
In 2013 we provided monetary support for the School Assistance program. Every
year we contribute hours in distribution and assembly of the backpacks for the
School Assistance program. Sunrise Rotary has been a very active supporter and
participant in CANstruction. Since 2010 members have used cans to create the
Chuck Taylor Converse shoe and basketball, Cummins racecar and most recently
the Banana Split. The project benefits local food banks. Members also support
international service projects and have partnered with other clubs in the district to
provide clean water to villages in Uganda. The club provides a series of microloans
through Kiva to individuals in South American to help alleviate poverty.

Provides higher education scholarships and grants to students who are slightly over guidelines
for financial aid through government and college loans. Each student receiving a financial
award through the Foundation will be assigned a mentor. Mentors stay with the student
