Giborim had a fun filled
Monday. We started out the week
by going to Skate Country. On
Wednesday, we enjoyed a trip to
Arizona Mills and Gameworks in
Tempe. All the campers were so
excited for our first trip outside of
Tucson and everyone had a great
time.
Shalom Parents; Zach here (stepping in
for Eric who is in Malibu). I first want to
say it was my privilege to work with your
kids. Second, I want to say how much of
an awesome and fun week we had. Our
week flew by with trips to the ballpark
(for a tour), then we skated, played golf,
went to see air planes at Pima Air and
Space Museum. Thank you so much to
the Tucson Radio Control Club of
Tucson; especially Al and Paul for letting
all of our campers learn about, and
actually fly real model airplanes, aka
“Barnstorming. “
Looking forward to next week. We
are going to the desert museum,
Tombstone and many more fun field
trips. One last
reminder : on
Wednesday we
have a late night
Luau.
Week one of session two has
come to a close! This week was a
blast! The LIT’s learned about
different behavior issues,
understanding certain types of
disabilities and how to work with all
different types of people. Two LIT’s,
David and Adina, rocked! They ran
part of science projects and all of the
community service for Shalom &
Giborim. Talk about stepping up to be
a leader! Also, a big thank you to
Rodney for helping out at the Dive and
Dine program. He was outstanding!
Next week the LIT’s have
voted to go on a field trip to Foothills
Mall where they will see Steven
Spielberg’s newest movie, Super 8.
They should bring money for lunch!
CPR and First Aid training is next
Monday.
Next week, we will be going to
the famous Downtown Fire Station
on Monday. On Wednesday we will
head up to Phoenix to cool off for
an extended day at Sunsplash Water
Park. We expect to return to the
JCC around 6:00 p.m. to have more
fun at our Late Night Luau. Please
plan on picking up your kids
between 7:00 and 7:15 p.m. See
everyone next week!
