TEACHING ACTIVITY
From 1995 until today, he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at the
Department of History and Archaeology and at the Department of Philology of the National
and Kapodistrian University of Athens, He taught also at the Department of History and
Archaeology - University of Crete as well as at the Department of Philology - University of
Patras and the Hellenic Open University. He has also organized relevant seminars in the field
of Ancient History for specialists and for public.
ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH INTERRESTS
The ancient Greek world from the Mycenaean to the Hellenistic period, the Archaic and
Classical period, the evolution of the Greek city-Sates and the relationships between them,
Athens and Sparta, Ancient Greek institutions, society, political regimes, the relationship
between individuals and society, economy and society, as well as social practices in Ancient
Greece.

workshops in Greece, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.

reviewing candidacies for academic posts in the universities of Athens, Ioannina and Thrace.
