The Heston Blumenthal Precision Digital Measuring Jug can be used to measure both
weight and volume, taking into account for the different densities of oil, milk and
water. The jug features an easy-to-read display positioned in the handle. The clear
jug is detachable.
To detach the jug
Press the button below the handle to unlock and detach the jug from the base.

Remove isolator tab before first use.
Insert 1 x CR2450 3V lithium cell. Ensure +/- terminals are the correct way round.

Operation
To switch on, press on the handle of the jug. Wait for the display to show zero*.
Use the Mode (M) and Unit (U) buttons to select the required ingredient and measure
(see section on Mode function below for all available options).
With the jug resting on a flat surface, add the ingredient to be weighed using the
markings on the jug as an additional guide if required. The display will show the
weight reading.
If filling at a tap, first ensure the display is set to zero. Lift the jug and fill, judging
the level by the markings on the jug. Place the jug on a flat surface. The display will
show the accurate weight or volume reading. Lift to pour out or add more liquid as
required until the amount is correct for your recipe.
*If, on switching on the product with an empty jug, the display gives a weight reading
greater than zero you may need to calibrate the jug. Calibration is ONLY needed when
the reading of the EMPTY jug is higher than zero.
With the clean, empty jug in-place on the base, turn on the unit with a single
press of the button. Ensuring the jug is positioned on a level surface, press and
hold for 6 seconds until ‘CAL’ flashes on the screen. Do not hold or touch the jug
when CAL is showing.
The display shows zero – calibration is complete.
Mode function
Select from 5 pre-set ingredients (water, milk, oil, flour and sugar) using the Mode
(M) button. The software is programmed to take into account the different densities
of different ingredients. This means that the scale can accurately be used to measure
volumes as well as by weight. Change between weight and volume measures by
pressing the Unit (U) button.
Auto-off/Manual switch off
To conserve battery life the display will automatically switch off after 5 minutes.
To manually switch off the scale press and hold for 3 secs.

Cleaning and care
The clear jug part can be removed from the base and washed by hand. The base and
handle part must not be submerged in water. Clean only with a damp cloth. Do not
use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
Keep away from hot surfaces.
NOT SUITABLE for use in Microwave ovens.

This product is intended for domestic use only. Salter will repair or replace the
product, or any part of this product, (excluding batteries) free of charge if within
15 years of the date of purchase, it can be shown to have failed through defective
workmanship or materials. This guarantee covers working parts that affect the
function of the scale. It does not cover cosmetic deterioration caused by fair wear
and tear or damage caused by accident or misuse. Opening or taking apart the
scale or its components will void the guarantee. Claims under guarantee must be
supported by proof of purchase and be returned carriage paid to Salter (or local
Salter appointed agent if outside the UK). Care should be taken in packing the
scale so that it is not damaged while in transit. This undertaking is in addition to a
consumer’s statutory rights and does not affect those rights in any way.

NOTE: There are different types of milk, oil, sugar or flour in the market. Different
types, brands & origins of the same ingredient have different density. For this
reason, some variation on the volume measurement will occur depending on the
type of ingredients you are using.
To add and weigh
To reset the display between ingredients press button once at anytime during
weighing. To find out the total weight of the individually weighed ingredients,
press button once, the Tare symbol will remove from the display and the total
weight of all previously zeroed weights will be shown.
