The Caddy Seating System
As each person is unique, it is difficult to define what constitutes
‘normal’ posture. Because of this our multi-disciplinary team of
Engineers and Therapists joined hands to develop the Caddy.
NEW
Shoulder & Triceps Support
Our Therapists know how important early intervention and
posture control is therefore the Caddy can achieve sizes from as
little as 20cm x 20cm.

and reduce lateral
leaning arm
retraction.
The Caddy has a flexible specification and enables the prescriber
to accommodate many conditions in just one seating system.
Backrest
When seated, it is desirable that as much contact
is made with the chair’s support surface in order to
provide maximum stability and function. Knowing
that our cushions can be shaped to the contours of
the back and lower back, we can give support and
ensure that the lower spine is in the desired position.
Headrest
Headrests are a crucial part of wheelchair
positioning. They can promote correct
posture, help breathing and help maintain
a correct visual field while driving the
wheelchair. RMS has an extensive range
of headrests available.

Backrest cushioning options
• 2 or 3-piece height adjustable flat cushion
• 2 or 3-piece height adjustable curved cushion
A good pelvic stability starts with the right
cushions; comfort is integral to sustaining
a functional posture. Like the backrest
cushion, the seat cushion can be shaped to
meet the needs of the user. The cushion
allows immersion of the ischial tuberosity,
helping to prevent their forward excursion, adding comfort and
maintaining skin integrity.
Flexible scoliosis can also be managed
by using our lateral supports.

Pelvic Stability
Considering the bodily mechanics of both the hip joint and the pelvis in sitting,
the stabilizing factor of muscular activity becomes extremely important. However,
for children and adults with disabilities who struggle with muscle weakness and
imbalances, spasticity and sensory issues, co-ordinating muscle activity to provide
stabilization and control is challenging if not impossible. RMS has a range of belts,
pelvic cradles, leg abductors, pommels, knee blocks, hip guides and knee adductors
to encourage a midline position, postural control and functional movement.

The nxt Back Support Series offers a range of contours to provide Posterior,
Posterior Lateral and Posterior Deep Lateral support. The Scapula cut-out shape

Quick Release Mounting Frame
Quick Release Mounting Frame
The Quick Release Mounting Frame is designed to achieve the following points.
• Attachment of headrests onto wheelchairs with canvas backrests. Headrest mounting bracket is
designed to accept various headrests with either 13mm or 16mm square mounting brackets.
• Attachment of harness top straps onto wheelchairs with canvas backrests. This is height
adjustable to ensure the correct harness position to maintain a good upright posture.
• Maintains backrest tension by preventing movement in the backrest tubes
Mounting frame is fully width adjustable to suit a wide range of wheelchairs.
• Head support can be used whilst being transported in a motor vehicle. Has successfully been
tested in Frontal Impact Test.
• Mounting brackets are designed to fit directly onto the wheelchair backrest frame or onto the
wheelchair backrest with a wrap around backrest canvas.
• Cross brace frames are supplied with upper harness webbing guides as standard.

• This kit has been subject to a successful
Frontal Impact Test and is suitable for clients
during transportation in motor vehicles.

A Tension Adjustable Backrest is designed to replace a sling back. It has a number of horizontal straps

Drop in Seats & Pommels
Lock & Latch Systems
The standard seat canvas supplied with a wheelchair has a tendency to stretch and sag, providing insufficient
support. A Drop In Seat may be used as an alternative.
The Lock & Latch System enables Drop-in seats and Backrests
to be quickly and securely attached to the wheelchair frame.
When using a Drop In Seat, the original wheelchair seat canvas is removed and a rigid seat board, mounted
on four drop-hooks, is mounted directly onto the wheelchair frame. Virtually any choice of cushion may
then be mounted onto the seat board.
The Latch Mounting is suitable for retaining either backrest
or seat base drop-hooks in position on the wheelchair frame.
Equipped with the simple Push-Pull slide action locking pin,
this device has been designed with strength, ease of operation
and durability in mind.
A Drop In Seat also allows the fitting of positioning accessories like pommels.

Anklesures
Raiser Blocks
A positive, discreet, easily adjustable method of securing the
users feet. With the ankle secured and the rest of the foot
allowed to move naturally, the user has the sense of freedom.
Anklesures are available in five sizes and two styles of strap
closure – Velcro or side release plastic buckle.
Footrest height adjusting blocks supplied in
pairs c/w clamping screws.
All Anklesures include a fitting kit as standard.
