James Chilton & Susanna Furner
James was a sigma of the Mayflower Compact and the oldest Mayflower
passenger. He died on December 1620 aboard ship while anchored off Cape Cod.
His wife Susanna also a passenger, died soon after her husband's death, leaving
their daughter, Mary, an orphan in the new land.
2nd Generation
Mary Chilton & John Winslow
Youngest daughter of James and wife, Susanna, Mary was a passenger on the
Mayflower in 1620. She is said to have been the first female to set foot at
Plymouth, Mass. Her husband, John Winslow, was the brother of Mayflower
passengers Edward Winslow, signer of the Mayflower Compact and Gilbert
Winslow. John Winslow became a wealthy merchant and ship owner in Boston,
Mass.
