NMPA is holding a Back Country Flying Course
in Truth or Consequences, NM, June l5-ll.
This will be a basic course in Back Country Flying with the aim of teaching you the basics of
flying in the wilderness. There will be an extensive ground school and flights with qualified
back country pilots to teach you the basic skills
necessary to fly into wildemess airstrips in NM.
Upon successful completion of this course you
will be able to join an organized flight into the
more rugged Utah wilderness areas. The flights
will visit strips of increasing difficulty and
unique considerations.
The lure of flying off remote strips and airplane
camping is becoming increasingly more popular
and groups like Recreational Aviation Foundation(RAF) are working with government agencies to open new and exciting airstrips to the flying public.
It is the desire of NMPA to make this a safer
activity by increasing education and skill levels
among pilots accessing these beautiful strips.
Now you are able to access camping, hiking,
fishing, hunting, in wilderness areas in minimal
time , giving you more time to play.
Increase your skills, get FAA Wings credit, open
a new horizon, and become a safer pilot for a
fraction ofthe cost ofother back country
schools. Cost of ground school $200. CFI's fees
are not included.
