Send a box of goodwill and cheer from
Jackson County to our service men and
women serving in Afghanistan. There’s
nothing like receiving a box from back
home filled with things we take for
granted, but are definitely missed by
the brave men and women serving
overseas. Will you help brighten their
day by buying a few items to fill a small
box?!
Letters to Troops
If you have time, the troops love to read letters
from home. Drop off your letters or cards at the
designated collection points and the
letters/cards will be sent with the donated
items…include a self addressed envelope (no
stamp required) and you just might hear back
from a Soldier who receives a box from back
home! Letters, cards and art work from children
are especially appreciated by our troops.
Collections will be received from August 18th
through Labor Day September 3rd at the following
collection points:
540 AM WRGC Radio Station 1846 Skyland Drive, Sylva
National Guard Armory – Sylva
Senior Center – County Veteran Service Office
Military Student Service Office at WCU –
138 Cordelia Camp, Cullowhee, 828-227-2135
After donations are collected a packing party will
be conducted to pack all donated items and
ship the boxes to Afghanistan.
A donation of $12.95 (USPS medium flat rate box)
can be made in lieu of items from the list. Make
checks payable to WNC Veterans Council. Make a
note on the check “For Postage”
