Discussions on Planning and Preservation in Today’s Libraries and the challenges we face on the African
continent, and the possibilities of international collaboration and skills development.
Delegates will be given an opportunity to raise their issues, challenges and concerns about Preservation and
Conservation of collections in their respective institutions (practical examples and situations)
AIM of session
The aim of this session is to facilitate the opportunity to network and share resources, knowledge and skills that
would empower preservation/conservation librarians/managers, archivist, information service providers and all
interested parties to make a difference in preserving South Africa’s cultural heritage and research resources and
material.
