Rigitone is a synonym for a wide range of high-quality perforated boards with acoustic absorption characteristics made
from the environmentally compatible material gypsum.
The continuous perforation and installation without joints
make Rigitone Perforated Boards real eye-catchers, giving a
room a unique character whilst providing optimum acoustics.
However, this requires very careful installation. The jointing of
the perforated boards is of utmost importance. Only correctly
filled joints ensure the desired visual impact and a result still
pleasing to the eye after many years.

installing Rigitone Perforated Boards.
Tried and tested joint filling technique
The joint filling technique is a tried and tested method for
installing Rigitone Perforated Boards.
The Rigitone Perforated Boards are mounted very close to
each other and the joints are filled with joint filler. When
correctly filled, the joint will offer very high resistance after
the filler has hardened.
In practice, problems can occur if the joints have not been
completely filled and cracks in the joint area can
emerge. Such damage quickly becomes apparent and the
subsequent repair is time-consuming and costly.

Guaranteeing successful and easy mounting of
Rigitone Perforated Boards using the joint filling
technique, the Rigitone Fix Joint Filling Set comprises:

Using the Rigitone Fix Joint Filling Set
How to prepare the Rigitone Fix Joint Filling Set

Mix the VARIO joint filler
according to the instructions
on the packaging. To fill
Rigitone Perforated Board
joints we recommend using a
slightly higher water content
(2.8 litres of water to 5 kg
VARIO joint filler).
Insert the Rigitone Fix piston
into the Rigitone Fix cartridge
tube and quickly fill the fully
prepared VARIO joint filler
into the cartridge.
Place the Rigitone Fix cap and
the Rigitone Fix nozzle on to
the cartridge and insert it
into the Rigitone Fix gun.
Pull the trigger until no air is
left in the cartridge and the
VARIO joint filler will flow
easily out of the nozzle.

When using the Rigitone Fix
Joint Filling Set, please ensure
that all joints are completely
filled.
After approx 30 minutes
use the Rigitone Fix scraper
to carefully remove any
protruding joint filler and
smooth out the joints.
Slightly overfill the screw
heads using the Rigips screw
head template.
After approx 3 hours, sand off
the joint areas and screw
heads and prepare them for
painting.
Note: After long breaks
we recommend rinsing the
tools with clean water!
