News and Notes from St. Stephen Lutheran School May 20, 2015

News and Notes from St. Stephen Lutheran School May 20, 2015 Kindergarten News:
These are very busy days for all of us as we wind down the year. These are the Kindergarten reminders: We have all the permission forms for the field trip, but we are missing 2 tshirts. PLEASE bring them in so they can be prepared for our project next week. (brightly colored tshirts are less than $3 at Hobby Lobby.) Tshirts will be worn on Summer Olympics day and hopefully we can get a picture of all of us. Children will each need to bring $3.50 in a bag on Tuesday, along with their backpacks/lunch, etc. and car seats. Tomorrow is our last latchkey day. THERE IS NO LATCHKEY NEXT WEEK. Faculty meets next Friday, and teacher will have to turn in our summer order for curriculum/materials/workbooks, etc. Please return the Preregistration form for next year. Please squeeze in a time to meet with Mrs. th
th
Krieger when convenient. I would like to share information with you about recent testing and some upcoming changes. Thank you to the 7
& 8
graders for reading their recently completed children's book tot he Kindergarten class. We have not heard all the stories yet, but we are enjoying their creations. Thank you to all of you for your Teacher Appreciation gifts (still looking for a free moment to make thank you cards and it hasn't happened yet!) I am so grateful for the support and “teamwork” so evident this year. God bless you all. 1st & 2nd Grade News:

7:00 PM Graduation Day Important Reminders: Final Milk Bills:
were sent home last week with the Wednesday note, please look for this note with you students paperwork. Thank you! There will be no milk next Tuesday. If your child would like a drink they can have water here, or please send something in for them. Thank you to all our upper grade
students for their work in hosting the games and for helping with the game dismantling. Because of all the help, we were able to take down the carnival decorations and games in record time. That includes setting up for the dinner. Awesome!! Several students made it a point to continue working long after, asking “How else can I help?” We are very proud of our students here at St. Stephen, and saw the wonderful way they interacted with our young friends. We had a number of visitors attend this year, which is also a joy to see. God bless our efforts to share what we have here at our school with others. We are richly blessed. Picnic:
all parents and families are invited to the picnic on Wednesday, May 29. If will begin after the “Olympics” at approximately 11:15. th
Thank you:
Mrs. Neumann and I would like to thank each and everyone of you who helped in ANY way to make our 25
anniversary in the ministry a truly memorable one. The cards, gifts, well wishes, and party are all greatly appreciated. God bless each and everyone of you. Mr. Neumann Immunization Waivers
: Starting in the fall, if any parent would like to waive ANY immunization, the parents of that child will need to have gone through a 30 minute appointment with a nurse at the Lenawee County Health Department. You will need to set up this appointment for yourselves. The school will NOT be able to issue any waivers from here on out. If you would like to waive shots for next school year, please set up your appointment with the health department BEFORE the school year begins in the fall, as the school will need to have the waivers from the health department before your child can start school. Scrip:
We are expanding our ordering for SCRIP. You can still place an order in the school office each week by dropping off your order and check with Mrs. Kemerer in the school office, but we are now offering a way for you to order at home. By ordering at home yourself, you are able to print out certain certificates right away or have certificates sent to your smart phone. (example: if you should decide at the last minute to go out for dinner, there are many restaurants that you could print out a certificate for at the last minute). This only applies to certain certificates, which is called “Scripnow”. We have a list of these in the school office. In order to participate in this, you must enroll through the SCRIP program at
www.shopwithscrip.com
. There is a video you can watch once you are into the Scrip program under “Presto Pay”. To set up your account, you will go into
www.shopwithscrip.com
you click on “Register”, then “Join an existing group” and enter our enrollment code “58D63F8843588” and set up a family account. Once you have done this we will be notified and will have to “approve the family” into our Scrip program. For you to do this you will have to give Scrip your checking account information. Everything is deducted directly from your account. (If for some reason, your account would be overdrawn, St. Stephen would incur the $30.00 nonsufficient fund fee and we would then need to collect this from our families – hopefully that would not be an issue). This is a lot of information, but if you have any questions, please speak with Mrs.Kemerer in the school office. All of this is new for us also, but so far our Scrip program is going very well! th
Latchkey:
Final latch key statements will be sent home on Tuesday May 26
. Please try and drop off your latch key payments the last school day so we can get all of these caught up and the books taken care of. If you have any questions regarding your latch key bill, please see Mrs. Kemerer in the school office. Thank you for your help with this! Please listen to WLEN 103.9 or check the one call for all school delays and cancellations. Mission Offerings
: total for this year so far is $1273.01. Our mission offerings will be sent out to Kids Care. Congratulations to our 2015 Graduates Jordan Bartels
