Glenn Andrews is a Memorial graduate with a Bachelors of Science and a Bachelors of
Education. Following 7 years as a high school teacher, he joined IOC as an Operations and
Maintenance Team Leader directing a unionized crew. Through a series of assignments
which include the implementation of Rio Tinto Safety Standards, directing a group of
internal consultants and facilitation of several continuous improvement projects, he
became heavily involved in the area of organisational effectiveness, leadership
development and recruitment.
In his current role as Senior Human Resources Business Partner, he has work closely with
operations to provide direction and support in areas of employee relations, interpretation,
development and implementation of labour legislation, policies, practices and procedures
as well as internal recruitment. This includes evaluating and communicating risks and
opportunities of various industrial / employee relations approaches to ensure appropriate
decisions are made while building relationships with unions, external organizations,
institutions/associations and government agencies.
