MULTIPLE OPPOSITIONS APPROACH

intervention approach. American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, 9, 282-288.

intervention. American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, 9, 289-299.
Our group decided to do the multiple oppositions approach with Andrew because it is possible to
work on expanding the inventory of sounds he can produce and reduce a phonological process (we
chose initial cluster reduction) simultaneously. McLeod and Baker (2003) report that the multiple
oppositions approach is suitable for children with “ a severe or profound phonological impairment”.
