Dear Parents and Carers,
BELLFIELD JUNIOR SCHOOL
14 weeks of school since September – where did they go?
Years 3&4 did their performances of ‘Christmas Disney Shorts’ on Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday and did brilliantly: their speaking and singing were first class. Well done to everyone
involved!
Year 5 did a superb Christmas Carol/ Nativity concert on Monday, which always sets the tone that
Christmas has arrived. Again, they presented themselves so well and it was thoroughly enjoyable.
On Wednesday, the Year 6 Basketball teams went to an inter-school competition: one of our
teams missed the final by 1 point and our other team lost in the final by 1 basket! They were
complimented by the organisers on their teamwork and excellent tactics. They also received Head
Teacher Awards. Well done to all 10 of them!
We’re straight in after Christmas: the theatre trip to see Treasure Island at the Rep is on the
Thursday 5th January – children come to school as normal but their lunch will be at about 1pm.
We are supplying a drink and snack for them so no need for tuck that day. The first few days back
to school will be a project based on the story of Treasure Island.
There’s also going to be a whole school homework project – more information after Christmas!
On behalf of all the staff – have a fantastic Christmas and have fun!
All the best and kind regards
Mr N. Attwood
Headteacher
WATER BOTTLES IN SCHOOL
Please make sure your child has
a water bottle in school, which
we keep in class, so that they
can have a drink during the
day. Water bottles are also
available to purchase at the school
office for £1.50 each. Thank you.

All information shared within school is
also available on our website. Please
download our APP to keep up to date
with alerts which are regularly sent out.
PE kits have been sent home to be washed and
freshened! Just a reminder for everyone: PE kits
MUST be in school (please send them in on the first
day back) and we suggest leaving them in school
until half-term.
Please remember that PE kit in school is: (indoor)
blue plain shorts (not cycling/legging type); white
or yellow plain T shirt (no football shirts) and black
pumps. (outdoor) Children can have a plain set of
jogging bottoms/ top and trainers. Jogging
bottoms/ long trousers and trainers are not allowed
for indoor PE.
If children do not have the correct kit, we will lend
them one. However, if it is a continual problem,
children will miss PE and we will ask you to come in
to discuss it. Thank you for your support.
A huge thank you to everyone in our school community who has supported our
recent activities in school. The Hollywood disco was a huge success and the
brilliant Hamper Raffle raised almost £300 this year. Our next event is SCHWAP in January.
More details will follow after Christmas, so please look out for these and support us. Also,
please remember our Bags2School collection on 26 January - bags have been sent home this
week and you can use any bags if you have extra to donate.
Next Meeting is Tuesday 17th January at 7pm
Thank you, Mrs. Westwood.
