As of today, this year’s precipitation is 238% of average to-date
at the San Jose Index Station and above average in the Diablo
Range, Santa Cruz Mountains, and South County.

The three index stations in the north county generally characterize
rainfall in the major precipitation zones in Santa Clara County,
which are the east slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the valley
floor, and the west slope of the Diablo Range. The south county
index station (6021) characterizes conditions in the south county
compared to the north county.
